Turbo, true, until calendar autumn there's still some time. But in two days school starts, which with restrictions and masks will probably be quite "fun"winking. So yes, summer is approaching its end.

Since it snowed in some places in the past days, I'm wondering if the path to High Kanin is normally passable or if there's any snow on the path? Thanks.

For High Kanin it's still recommended to have winter gear for now. Two foreigners came also via ferrata and said the same, that snow hindered them. They descended with us to the ski slope and over the saddle back to Italy. Also in the Family ferrata on Prestreljenik there's still one snow patch that needs to be crossed. But snow is melting fast, so it will be better soon.

4 August. It was just as sung by (Feri Lanjšček) in the song. The day was awakening. It was full of everything. After a long time I asked God to take my mind and leave the dreams. The soul is free that flies with you. We left home early, because we knew the tour would be all-day. The path through Zadnji Dol was unknown to us. The aim was to hike circularly. Descend past the Petra Skalar hut to the start. We met some cavers. They had a meeting. Then to the top really no one else. We wondered if anyone still walks this path? We viewed Črni Vogel from below. Arrived at the scree where there were no more cairns nor markings. Up to here the path was traceable all the way. Demanding was the crossing of the scree and into the gully under the summit. Markings there were faded. Hardly visible. Probably it will stay like that. It seems most come up by cable car and then go to the top by another path. Where we descended. Or by climbing. Anyway. At the top there was no crowd at all. We sat peacefully and then headed to the Petra Skalar hut. Viewed what remained of the bivouac. Chatted with a friendly caver who explained where to descend so we don't take the longer path where it branches to Laška Planja. But everything is well marked. Just the walking hours didn't match ours at all. We didn't rush. Better hurry slowly. But we walked the planned path. Which had been planned for a long time. We just waited for nice weather. Tour worth all the effort, although long, it is beautiful.

@darinka4 or anyone else: I'm interested if the stamp is already at the top? Comments in some descriptions say there isn't one (nowhere anymore?!).

The stamp for Visoki Kanin and Rombon you get at Bar Bumbar on the Kanin ski slope. According to some (unverified), you get it also in Bovec at the TIC. On Visoki Kanin even the cross will slowly be gone.. sad

In the morning we drove through Tarvisio to Sella Nevea, starting point of the tour; we didn't wait for the cable car start but went on foot to the upper station and Gilberti hut. Here a little chat and then right to the glacier under Kanin and Julia ferrata. Glacier very small, no winter gear needed, and already before the north wall where Julia Ferrata is; we put on harnesses and helmets and cheerfully to the top, short but sweet. At the top nice views and quite a few people. From the top down the Slovenian side to the ski slope. We also viewed the window in Prestreljenik and via ferrata continued to the top. Then descent to Prevala pass, where some dash to the buffet for stamp and drink, others slowly to the upper Italian cable car station with which we descend to the valley, knees grateful. Then obligatory swim in Lago del Predil and home.

Officially it's somewhere 1:40. At the start you cross the ski slope and ascend on the right side of the ski slope. So that you won't search unnecessarily nasmeh

We needed an hour and a half to the Gilberti hut. The path is nicely laid through the forest and quite followable and marked. Cable car starts at 8:30 - 16:30. For down we paid 8 €.

Cable car runs until 17.30, at the counter they ask if you have a mask!
