And who knows what the snow conditions are like on the Julija path? Is winter gear needed or can the snow be avoided?

Probably the last summer high mountain day we spent this time on Kanin. The nice forecast attracted quite a few people, so there was a long line of hikers and paragliders at the lower cable car station in the morning. We also saw a marker from PD Bovec, who marked the paths around Prestreljenik and Preval that day. After the first fixed cables we saw two chamois that weren't afraid of us at all. After a longer crossing of scree we climbed a bit to the ridge that leads to High Kanin. It's really nice that this path isn't too equipped with metal. Below the summit we met crowds of people who came via ferrata Julia. Several times there was the sound of falling rocks from the wall, so it probably wasn't very pleasant there. The weather forecast scared with thunderstorms, but none were visible far around. Only a few times did fog cover the summit and views. We were on the summit for a long time and admired the interesting Kanin world. We barely caught the last cable car down. The Kanin stamp is available at Ski Bum Bar.

Well, there will still be quite a few summer high mountain days until 22.9, when autumn starts. Weather-wise summer ones maybe fewer. Miro, yes, chamois. Regards!

Turbo, true, until calendar autumn there's still some time. But in two days school starts, which with restrictions and masks will probably be quite "fun" winking

Since it snowed in some places in the past days, I'm wondering if the path to High Kanin is normally passable or if there's any snow on the path? Thanks.

For High Kanin it's still recommended to have winter gear for now. Two foreigners came also via ferrata and said the same, that snow hindered them. They descended with us to the ski slope and over the saddle back to Italy. Also in the Family ferrata on Prestreljenik there's still one snow patch that needs to be crossed. But snow is melting fast, so it will be better soon.

4 August. It was just as sung by (Feri Lanjšček) in the song. The day was awakening. It was full of everything. After a long time I asked God to take my mind and leave the dreams. The soul is free that flies with you. We left home early, because we knew the tour would be all-day. The path through Zadnji Dol was unknown to us. The aim was to hike circularly. Descend past the Petra Skalar hut to the start. We met some cavers. They had a meeting. Then to the top really no one else. We wondered if anyone still walks this path? We viewed Črni Vogel from below. Arrived at the scree where there were no more cairns nor markings. Up to here the path was traceable all the way. Demanding was the crossing of the scree and into the gully under the summit. Markings there were faded. Hardly visible. Probably it will stay like that. It seems most come up by cable car and then go to the top by another path. Where we descended. Or by climbing. Anyway. At the top there was no crowd at all. We sat peacefully and then headed to the Petra Skalar hut. Viewed what remained of the bivouac. Chatted with a friendly caver who explained where to descend so we don't take the longer path where it branches to Laška Planja. But everything is well marked. Just the walking hours didn't match ours at all. We didn't rush. Better hurry slowly. But we walked the planned path. Which had been planned for a long time. We just waited for nice weather. Tour worth all the effort, although long, it is beautiful.
