S56, thanks. What about SPP, is it also scenic? In other words, which one do you recommend?

Both paths are extremely scenic. SPP runs almost entirely through panoramic terrain, the path through the Reka gorge a bit less, but I think it's more scenic than SPP - you see more of nature's forces at work... If you choose SPP you'll have to hike one section twice, namely below the village Gradišče there's a branch for Divača direction and you'll have to return from Škocjan Caves to that junction to continue to Divača. If you choose the path through the Reka gorge, you never go twice over the same section... Nice to hike both paths, especially in spring... Happy hiking!

Snow! I decide to go admire the snowy idyll on Vremščica. At the start a bad feeling hits me when I see a group of youngsters on "cross bikes". I hear Italian talk. Surely they didn't go up!
Yeah, they did - shaaaame! The view of the consequences of their ride is sad - churned trail, rocks pulled from the ground. Can't this really be prevented? Sadly Vremščica is a popular spot for such "feats" and the consequences are well visible.mrk pogled
Otherwise the path to Vremščica is snowy but trampled. Gaiters recommended, snow up to 30 cm. Just at the top a bit windy. Views beautiful - to the Dolomites. And I found the snowy idyll too nasmeh
Met only four hikers and a group of Italians enjoying snowy fun with sleds.

Such destruction of nature, really sad sight. Not long ago there was already a debate here about this kind of destruction, but some don't get it. Precisely because there are such beautiful expanses here, they allow themselves such reckless behavior and even enjoy it. I've never seen such severe consequences in nature caused by such rampaging. Nature quietly endures everything and slowly but steadily returns it all to us for what we do to it. Undoubtedly you had a somewhat ruined trip with beautiful views and lovely whiteness. Nice regards and take care.

Velesa, horrible!!
I go to Vremščica many times and each time more disappointed.
When I was there end of October, fine Italians were crashing through bushes and literally knocking down every mushroom under their feet.
They didn't even clean them, just pulled and hop into baskets, bags, backpacks.
Their dogs were howling, barking, growling over each othermrk pogled.
There were some Slovenian dogs too, but on leash!!
At the top of Vremščica they were passing sticks, their kids had some spears and threw them literally everywhere!!
Our group already warned the first mushroom group, then nicely told them to leash the dogs, and at the top I lost it. Literally!!
They behave really like pigs.
Don't even talk about how those fine ladies were breaking branches, tearing bushes, pulling something that was probably some herb?!
On the way back I looked more at the other hills and ridges.
Maybe more than ten camping vans. They drove straight through bushes, pastures,... to their spot.
And now I wonder; who harms nature more
violent Italians
or
wind turbines.
Maybe all those environmentalists should go up there some Sunday.

About driving cars up there, honking, no thanks!

Yesterday I went from Zgornje Ležeče to the top. You can also get to Zgornje Ležeče village by train. Excellent hiking spot and use of public transport.

So we don't search... Starting point is in the village (at the train station) Gornje (not Zgornje!) Ležeče... And it's really an excellent starting point for Vremščica with public and cheap transport - train...

On May 17th I headed to Vremščica, took the train to Gornje Ležeče railway station, best starting point for Vremščica. Descended towards Neverk, Košane, in Pivka took the train. Very pleasant and scenic circular tour. Recommend.mežikanje
I'll repeat this trip soon. No stamp yet, because the stamper was completely dry, but the wind dried it wellvelik nasmeh, didn't have insoles and shower then.

Hello, Hribovc88!

This path was quite LONGeekcongrats on perseverancenasmehnasmehnasmeh

By the church of St. Urban (I think since May) there's also a shelter. When bora rages on Vremščica, or one needs to change clothes. Inside there's a logbook.

Take care, M

Today I ascended to Vremščica from Košana or Čepno, along the way also visited Krpan's Holy Trinity (689 m). Descended to Gornje Ležeče. Throughout moderate to strong bora was blowing, which despite warm autumn sun cut into the bones pretty strongly.eek

Morning was cold, not even the sun warmed it closer to 0... it showed -8. We were the first who wanted weather on Vremščica, so no choice but to break trail... up to knees, sometimes even substantially higher (not to mention the spot where I, and the dog at all, occasionally sank nasmeh). But - it was worth it. Snow cover depth will increase with altitude - is the usual weather forecasters' statement mežikanje. But it wasn't so. Through forest breaking trail, higher up and on the plateau walking on grass...upside down world, if we ignore that it's the result of wind play. Views to Julian Alps, KSA, Dolomites....Lightly blowing, nothing worse. In shelter it was really pleasant. Great winter day happened to us.

Today on Vremščica noticeably less sun, and also visitors (at least in the morning). The path or trail from Volč direction is somewhat frozen at the beginning, otherwise with some more zigzags than usual passable without major issues (especially for those with long legsvelik nasmeh)

Today on the path from Senožeče there were no special features. In the first half of the path, in the forest, there's still some snow on the path, but it poses no problems. At the top it was blowing quite a bit, as usual, but in the shelter it was really pleasantly warm.

A few more pictures here.

Only today I noticed that you went under Vremščica by train. I'm interested how much time you spent from Gornje Ležeče over Vremščica to Košana or vice versa? According to described paths it should be walking for max 3 hours somewhere. We plan a trip with a larger group of kids. LP

Probably you mean this trip on Nov 15. At 11:18 I arrived by train to Košana, then via Čepno and Holy Trinity ascended to Vremščica, arrived there at 13:35. Descended to Gornje Ležeče, arrived at 15:40. Before departure do check the weather forecast, because when bora pulls up there it's very very unpleasant, which I experienced on my own skineek
