What's going on with hribi.net?!

Well said, but when someone writes such nonsense after a completed tour and then they ask you if it was really that with passing the helmet, it's everything but pleasant that someone makes fun of you. On Mrzla gora I was two years ago, I knew the path so I didn't go blindly and I have a lot of experience, I'd say.

It always surprises me that in a time when most of us have too little time for ourselves, for our hobbies and sports, individuals surprise us who obviously have too much free time. Really too much, so much too much that they are already a bit sick from boredom. And because of that they are not happy, on the contrary - actually they are most dissatisfied with themselves and envious of all who in life do and achieve something else than daily searching for others' mistakes. That's how it is in life as well as on this forum. Searching for mistakes, poking into every smallest mistake, nitpicking the smallest details is probably not the purpose of this forum. Most of us go to the mountains because we love them. Some for peace, others for climbing, a third for flowers and animals, a fourth because they walked the path in some record time. But all that are mountains, those mountains in which we find our satisfaction. Just like in life here too we don't need to provoke certain "heavies". They are already punished enough to live a miserable life such as they live! Lp Peter Strgar

Good thinking, Mr. Strgar, with which I fully agree. But I still have to praise "hribi.net", because as a fairly "green" hiker who seriously goes to mountains only for three years although already over 58, they are of great help to me. Overinflated posts written by frustrated hikers for whom everything in this world is (too) easy and (too) light, I try simply to ignore and focus on those I consider well-intentioned, although I have to admit that even in such assessments I sometimes err. Therefore it might be appropriate when assessing a path to think also of such hikers who are approaching sixty or have already passed that "mark". Maybe it would be smart to open a new page that e.g. called "tour descriptions for sixty-year-olds" or "tours for Abrahams" or .................

On this forum we meet people with very different experiences. From those for whom the path to Šmarna gora is already a challenge to alpinists for whom everything under IV difficulty grade is very easy. Difficulty is a very subjective assessment of the individual and we cannot generalize it at all. Regardless of how many experiences someone has, on this forum one can find very useful information. You need to know how to filter posts and look for posts from such that we will find ourselves in too. If you already look at an individual's profile, you can already figure out where who belongs. I'm not bothered at all by posts say from Dejan Grm although I'm not even half as fast as him. For me it's actually interesting to read them. In reality the posts from tours from no one bother me. But sometimes I'm a bit bothered by the smart remarks of some who don't post anything from their tours but are extremely critical of others' posts. Precisely the posts give life to the forum. As different as people are, so colorful are the posts too. Let's respect diversity and not criticize everything in a row. The forum is not as bad as some want to portray. I think on the contrary it's a very good source of information. You just need to know how to find them and everyone will find what they are looking for.

.... Is it happening to someone else or just me?.... Lately very often I can't open Hribi.net. Will the forum be discontinued or is there something else?

I also had a problem with the Hribi.net page today. When I tried to open it the following message appeared (see picture). After about 20 minutes the page started working.

Could you fix it so I don't have to confirm that cookie notice box every time I return to the main page from other pages (e.g. trip description, photos etc.)? So in e.g. 15 minutes browsing hribi.net I probably click that notice at least 10x :-(

Today I was really worried when I wanted to open this portal, but it said the page is not available, everything else was working. I was very grateful when the page just opened. Anyway, one thing that's a pleasure for us

@Kriška The message probably reappears when you return to the home page using the "back" button in your browser. The browser usually displays the page in the form it already has in memory. So that the page loads faster. Clicking the notice again does nothing. So you can ignore the notice.

Today I was browsing this thread a bit. Interesting. I see that trolls are active too, like everywhere. I'm more surprised by the big response to their provocative posts. We know that we slowly take away all their will to write if we simply ignore them and act as if they didn't write anything. But if we reply, get upset and write how uncultured they are, ask what intentions they have, they have achieved their goal and will only escalate it. If not for other reasons, because they simply enjoy seeing that they provoked someone and they get upset. So, don't reply to such people, don't even show that it bothers you. Just skip past such a post. This way you'll also make your day nicer, instead of spending hours nervously thinking only about what kind of people they are. People are what they are. Some good, some worse, some bad. And everyone seeks their way to get through the day. So don't stress over provocations, and the forum will be more credible, because only those who deserve it and want to learn something, get an answer to their question that's useful in the mountains or for gear, etc. My former boss taught me a good thing that's still very useful. When the superior called her to account for our mistakes in the work process (we said she needs to go back to mass) and chewed her out for the mistakes, she always, when she returned to the department, first sat in her office, counted to 200 or more, and then talked to us normally. Without yelling, without insults, without offending. Maybe someone could use this "technique" when reading trolls' posts. When you read it and it upsets you, remove yourself from the forum for say 5 minutes, calm down and grunt that you won't react to such a post by writing. And you'll have an even nicer day.

Super site editors. My comments deleted, viharnik's attic remains. Enjoy the attic, the Forum will slowly go the way of pzs.si.
