Calm down a bit guys. If I invite someone to go with me to Triglav and modestly add that I'd like to be back quick say from Ljubljana in six hours, because I don't have time and I write that the weather was cool, you'd crucify me. That's why I don't post at all. Time, speed, abilities, years are relative. Be kind to each other. Mountains, God, life are really cool.nasmeh

Thank God the administrator decided to delete the ranting around Dejan's accident. I still wish all forum participants lots of luck, and don't be obsessed with this technology, work for your soul and body,... GOOD LUCKnasmehmežikanje

I think this topic is becoming relevant again. I don't know... whether I've been sleeping the last few months/years, was blind, or if changes are really happening.

The culture of dialogue on the forum is dropping a lot. It's becoming more and more like the "culture" of some average forum. Say I post pictures of Gradiška and Abram and immediately it's about animals in captivity. On the SPP topic it's mainly about Mang(a)rt... ok, all good and right, we learned something new, until we start reading "you have no idea", "better educate yourself" etc. With Montaž it went even further, so the topic looks more like a debate of angry Slavists. And finally, not even mentioning the Zermatt topic and various religious ramblings everywhere.

That's right Trobec, that's why they say "EVERY CALF HAS ITS OWN REVELRY"

Last week I sat on the running forum and I have to say, the communication culture there is on a much higher level. There too someone asks about suitable shoes for mountains and such, but they don't bash him, like it often happens here regarding proper gear or walking speed in mountains. Of course it's true that on the running forum there's also some impatient nutcase, but much less than here.

Similarly last week I had a much better experience as a buyer in a more sports-oriented store than in any of the mountain-oriented shops, except Kibuba where they have really normal salespeople. In some mountain shops I often feel like they try to sell you the most expensive stuff just to sell it, often quite arrogant and absolutely too smart. In that sports store though the salesperson and I had a nice chat and exchanged experiences. Seems like more negative and uncultured people gather around mountain topics.

@Tadej and @Rok are responsible for the content of comments. It doesn't bother me if someone asks every day about conditions, gear and route. It bothers me when criticisms pile upjezik.

You can't blame Rok and Tadej for the content of comments.
Everyone bears responsibility for what they write and post.
When something gets deleted, of course criticisms, pontificating, discussions about the justification of deletion fly...

Nobody is blaming Tadej/Rok, but they have 100% control over content. On FB everyone has their own profile and inappropriate comments get deleted, user blocked. My albums are publicly open, anyone with FB account can comment my photos.

Lg, but does praise bother you too? Interesting way of thinking, thanks, criticism doesn'teek
Also (justified) criticisms are often welcome, but they need to be accepted, not taken as personal attack right away. Insulting is different, no place here.

Contents not about mountains have no place on this portal, if deleted even better, because it's spam.
Welcome are contents like: is the path to Mrzlo gora dry, are fixed protections ok, is climbing demanding, crumbly, is rope needed, such and similar questions almost never.zavijanje z očmi

"Looks like more negative and uncultured people gather in mountain topics."
(iUnknown)

Based on a few different opinions you can get that feeling... but in mountains we meet only friendly people ready to help anytime. The proverb says the mountain is not crazy, but the one going up tells a lot about us mountaineers.velik nasmeh
That the forum accepts different opinions is fine. Insulting ones usually get excluded. The debate would surely be on a higher level if all signed with real name and surname.
Sometimes I have the feeling the forum is being "mined" with various "stupid" questions that are just provocation and raising pressure.

You also got a bad opinion about "mountain" shops, but not everywhere like that. About Maribor Igla I can only praise. Shopkeepers are as we wish everywhere else.

Yeah, interesting thing. Culture is declining generally with general culture. Of course provocateurs and "trolls" can be present (good trolls are otherwise excellent) with intent to muck up the forum for users.

The forum was certainly well-intentioned and set up at a time when someone else invented something very necessary and convenient, as many could find reliable additional information and familiarize themselves not only with the path but also with all other circumstances that can befall a hiker, mountaineer, even alpinist. As Drago already wrote, the only and in my opinion key mistake in the design is that the user's name and surname were not required upon registration. Thus, some think it's carnival all year and hide behind the mask of anonymity, as if they fear their own shadow. Every honest and responsible mountaineer, hiker, alpinist has nothing to hide from anyone or anything in our mountains nor in foreign ones. Of course provocateurs are found everywhere who like hawks lurk from the armchair on every post. Juš, Jovan, Janez, Lidija, Darja and some others were among the first to show our faces, now you strike.

Hello, since you've opened a topic about the forum, I'd like to add a remark here: what bothers me on hribi.net is the "Conditions" topic, which I open several times (especially in the cold part of the year) to check the conditions on the path, but sometimes I get annoyed because users there instead of conditions describe e.g. how we had a great time, what fine food, look at these nice photos etc. That doesn't help me at all.
I'd ask the administrators to open another topic for people who want to share their feelings and achievements with others, say My day in the mountains - experiential essay, and then in the "Conditions" topic one could really learn about the conditions, especially in winter and spring about where there's still snow, if the chains, pegs are in place etc. I'd really be grateful, the forum is otherwise interesting to visit, I like the polls etc. Best regards

Precisely the photos are those that say the most about the conditions. If those aren't enough there are the TRs where you can get detailed info from the one who walked the path.

I'm sorry that everything turned out this way...
Several times in the past I expanded my knowledge with certain users and reached there faster, which I always dreamed about.
Some really have no other joy in life than to watch others (on the forum or elsewhere on the web), adorn themselves with "irregularities" of others and quasi-puritanically elevate themselves to heavenly heights of self-sufficiency under a primitive mask of their own weakness. Psychopathology of reality! Life is just a whole circus...
As the predecessor says, for more detailed info and other shootouts there is ZS or another open topic, under the designed mountain topics let there be only the path description for improving hiker safety.
