I deeply agree, peter2, that this is really tasteless and very annoying. Advertising presented this way triggers outright disgust in me towards the brand being advertised, whatever it is! And I even feel an allergy to further viewing content on hribi.net.

Everything is falling apart and disintegrating. As long as anonymous shitters shit on the portal and the admin doesn't remove them there'll be no space left for pictures.
I already criticized the portal about anonymous users some time ago and praised it as it showed nice prospects for conditions and planning various tours with help of predecessors' pictures. But everything is ruined by those hiding behind fairy-tale names and pontificating from an armchair not even facing the window to see at least the weather.

Bruno Vencelj, MANGRT, you're a top computing expert. Whole Slovenia could write dumb comments and there still wouldn't run out of space for pictures.
Pictures take incomparably more space than text.
But I suspect space isn't the problem at all.

Mangart, from such a refined and tactful gentleman I'd expect at least some regard for tender ears. Instead of "shitting" you could write pooping or whimpering. Tough luck living in Slovenia where the IT crowd doesn't value your top computer expertise enough. In Silicon Valley, California you'd have a monument as computing genius already.

As for user anonymity and "inappropriate" comments, more could be done. But still Hribi.net is more interesting for me and follows current conditions better than Gore in ljudje.

I think there are two who are the most deserving and diligent for the web portal Hribi.net continuously richly informing and advising all users for 13 years already. That's Rok and Tadej. Thanks to you both!

Definitely, kudos. But I'd add something. In my view, an important reason why hribi.net (still) is so popular is that the site has long resisted all renovation pressures. Lately there's a real epidemic of renovations of various web portals online (here and abroad, from BBC onwards, here RTVSLO, 24 ur, Siol etc.) and every single one turned out much less functional after renovation than before. So I'm not thrilled about any radical portal renovation. The portal is functional as it is. Any renovation would likely be a change for the worse.

This is the best site for me where I get information on trails and current conditions. I always checked here before heading out... Thanks to hribi.net I completed the SPP and I thank Rok and Tadej for this site and all of you who post and help with information. May the site remain as it is

Besides, this is noticeable also on mountaineering sites: bergsteigen.com (renovated twice, both times for the worse), klettersteig.de,...
Some graphical improvements, makeup and the like - yes, maybe introducing some section or removing one that really didn't take off, otherwise we don't need renovations of the portal as it is now!

We all still remember how the mountaineering forum on PZS fell apart .
When they renovated the site, a large part of the history of various trail descriptions disappeared, and the new site just couldn't take off. So really be careful with renovations.
