Where to go with a dog?

At this last post tears just welled up in me. So touching. I really reflected on myself. The guy is so right, yet others don't take him seriously!!!
I mean, really, damn this forum where people just won't agree!

ZeK, I wholeheartedly believe one bad experience is enough to make a person cautious for life... I have a labrador pup and I'm careful choosing the hike, its time and encounters... he often stays home, sadly we spoiled him a bit and he has certain issues... I never had trouble meeting other owners' dogs, even with our Lord along...
But I had trouble with meeting - a cyclist on the path from Kepa, but I didn't complicate it at all, since the LAW is clear here too (met them many times, always without issues)... with a bit of tolerance and understanding everything can be sortedmežikanje

The biggest problem are dog owners, they lead them practically everywhere, don't look at others, as soon as they step on a mountain path, everything is theirs. That's what it's about, not hard to understand.

@dragica: do you know a dog can detect a bitch in heat up to two kilometers away for example? And that it senses more by smell than by sight, so flat terrain isn't really needed.

Well, now we've come to the end, if @Zek wasn't chasing, the dog wouldn't have noticed him. The dog itself is purely to blame if it jumped him. Sort these things out elsewhere, not in the mountains, so dogs have issues.

@grega: Animals go into heat, if you don't know. The vixen emits a scent that attracts males or it's a sign she's ready for it.

A male can't just mount one like with 'fine' people where anyone can do it with anyone anytime. Then we still say someone acts like an animal in heat...zavijanje z očmi

Yeah, if they are neutered like dogs should be, no wonder you don't know what mating drive is...zavijanje z očmi mežikanje

Just like that fine lady when her bitch got pregnant, the vet came to her and she said she doesn't know how since she's always home and couldn't do anything with any dog... Then a big black dog comes out of the room and the vet says: 'Well what about this one?' and she says: 'Impossible, this one is her brother!'

My colleague had a plaque on his desk with the inscription:
"The more I get to know people, the more I like dogs!"
I think there's some truth in it.

Well, when we went to Nanos for midnight mass on Christmas Eve, two hikers took dogs with them. No problems at all. Well-behaved. We could pet them. They were really pleasant. The owner said one was from the shelter that they got. The other was a German shepherd, also a friendly animal.

Probably my question will seem senseless and stupid to many, so please a serious answer from someone who really knows the subject and no mockery.
A dog (large breed), supposedly trained, even a rescue dog, slipped from the owner's hand (she slipped) and rushed at a much smaller dog on a leash. The reason the trained dog rushed at the smaller one was supposedly that the smaller dog barked. My question is, is another dog's bark really a reason for the trained dog to react that way? Thankszmeden

This smells of legalistic (modern American) complications, so I'd advise those present to think thoroughly before answering anything.

I'll write the whole situation. What I previously wrote and asked is my experience from today. The "trained" dog rushed at my dog on the leash and also attacked it, so I found myself between the two. It blurred before my eyes and of course I yelled for help. My smaller dog ended up in the maw of the much larger dog, luckily he didn't bite it, just grabbed it and lifted it off the ground. The owner of the larger dog slowly calmed her dog and of course a loud quarrel ensued between us. She tried to convince me that my dog was to blame for the incident because it barked and thus provoked hers, that he does nothing bad to anyone, is tame, is trained... big luck that no one was injured... and thus my question. Is the bark of the other dog really a reason for the trained dog to react that way?

Even firecrackers shouldn't explode in the hand, but it happens. Whoever possesses any thing must count on even its bad properties - consequences.

I'm giving my opinionnasmeh A dog can be trained, but if as owner you don't train with it, such training doesn't help it. A responsible owner will always train both his dog and himself. And even after training the dog is just a dog and never 100% (well, humans aren't eithernasmeh), so something like that can happen.
The owner of that dog that attacked yours unfortunately didn't train with it, because if she had, she wouldn't have ever said that your dog caused that incident with its barking.
I'm glad that everything is okay with the pup.
Good nightnasmeh

shaya, thanks. We were today with the dog at the vet, visible abrasions from the dog's grip on the neck, but luckily it won't be serious. Dear SamoK, I didn't write my experience from any motives that smell of legalistic (modern American) entanglements, as you state and warn forum users, but it just seemed simply right to me to share the experience more widely, since such cases aren't so isolated that it would be taboo to talk and write about them. It's true, such and other complications can always happen, that's completely clear to me, but even so we could prevent many things if we observed certain matters... Dogs are our companions on forest paths, hills... they are part of our life, so I think it's appropriate that I wrote about it on this page. Maybe my experience will give someone food for thought, maybe not, someone will just mockingly laugh, go on and think yet another one who nags... probably I'll need some time before I'm calm, relaxed and without fear of others, especially larger dogs or dog owners - as you like, on dog walks. I wish you peaceful and safe travels on all pathsnasmeh
