Otiv, by the flower shape, by the long spurs that intertwine, I'd say it's kukovičnik, white variant of course.

Apolonija, thanks. Quietly I thought of that too, but didn't know there's also white kukavičnik. There were lots of red ones and I found also the spotted kukavica. Also this tiny yellow one is unknown to me or I've already forgotten its name. It was the only one I encountered on the whole trail.

Hello, yesterday I walked through a real botanical garden on Snežnik. For some time I've wanted to find travnolistno vrčico, which is native there, since I haven't seen it live yet. Not only did I find it in abundance, there were so many other flowers I couldn't get enough of them, from Carniolan lilies, mountain ločike, beautiful čmerike, vanež, young planike and many many other little flowers. Yes, that was good for the soul . So don't blame me for not being moderate when I reveal these beauties to your eyes too. lp

Zlatica, excellent! I don't know how you managed to leave Snežnik amid such abundance of little flowers. Isn't your svišč the potbellied one?

Zlatica, it's really a feast for the eyes and soul. I even envy you a little. I haven't seen Kranjske trinije yet. The unknown with 80 fits men just right, especially a bit older ones. small-flowered vrbovec PS: If kukovičnik smells, then it's the fragrant one.

Otiv, you're right both about how I left Snežnik with a heavy heart, and that it seemed to me too that it could be the pot-bellied gentian, but these gentians always give me trouble. Apolonija, thanks to you for the new flower that I got to know this way. I haven't heard of the small-flowered willowherb yet. Now I just need to find out where its usefulness for the male sex is! Branko, I'm still missing your opinion on the Obir gentian. If I'm not mistaken, you know these flowers better. lp

zlatica, you correctly identified the Obir gentian-it has gray hairy leaves. Completely similar in flowers is the marsh gentian, only leaves are green. I found another species on Mangart, which is rare. The gentian is pot-bellied and quite common. It has several flowers on the stem. Otherwise I know two small-flowered gentians with several flowers on the stem, but haven't seen them in nature yet-only cultivated. I have one species myself. By the way -I know the genus Gentiana well. I just need to look at Koch's and Clusius's, because they are very similar.

Since Brane hasn't responded, maybe he will, I'll give my opinion. I think it can't be reliably said from the photos whether it's the Obir gentian. It seems to me too that it could be a gentian, even the Obir one. But it would "need" stem leaves....

Zlatica, sorry. While I was typing, Brane has already responded. In Slovenia there grow six different gentianellas: curly gentianella, Obir gentianella, Inula-leaved gentianella, orange gentianella, stream gentianella and meadow gentianella. You thought well when you posed the dilemma: pot-bellied- snow gentian. Both are annuals and have no sterile shoots and can have multiple flowers on the stem. But the pot-bellied has a belly and is more common

Brane, Apolonija, really thanks to both for the added information, they'll come in very handy.

How big they are! The plant's root, after which it got its Slovenian name, is really golden yellow and sometimes they baked and ate it and even dried and ground it into flour.

Well, potka, those are cushions you'd rest your head on if it wouldn't crush the flowers! The gentian on the last photo looks really special due to the color. Maybe it is.
