Description:
Rainbachscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2724 meters in the Zillertal Alps. The saddle is located 8 km south-southwest from the center of Krimml and 10 km south-southwest from the center of Vorderkrimml. The nearest mountain hut is Zittauer Hütte, located 1.3km west-northwest. bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte is also relatively close. 0.6 km west-northwest of the saddle there is lake Oberer Gerlos See. 1.1 km northeast from the saddle there is glacier Weißkarkees, 2 km north from the saddle there is also glacier Wildkarkees. The saddle is located above the valley Wildgerlostal.
