Rainbachkopf is 2669 meter high peak and is part of the Zillertal Alps. The peak is located 8 km south from the center of Krimml and 10 km south-southwest from the center of Vorderkrimml and 1.8 km east-northeast of peak Rosskopf. The nearest mountain hut is Zittauer Hütte, located 3km west-northwest. A little further is bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte. 3 km west of the peak there is lake Unterer Gerlos See. 1.4 km northwest from the summit there is glacier Weißkarkees, 3 km northwest from the summit there is also glacier Wildkarkees.
