The saddle is located 6 km east-northeast from the center of Schachnern and 7 km northeast from the center of Apriach and 2 km west-northwest of peak Alteck. The nearest mountain hut is Rojacher Hütte, located 1.1km east-northeast. And Trögeralmhütte is also close by. 0.7 km south of the saddle there is lake Brettsee. 5 km east from the saddle there is glacier Mölltaler Gletscher, 5 km north-northwest from the saddle there is also glacier Krumlkees.
