Brennkogel is 3018 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 6 km north from the center of Winkl and 7 km north-northwest from the center of Heiligenblut and 1.9 km east-northeast of peak Spielmann. The nearest mountain hut is Litzlhofalm, located 3km east-northeast. A little further is Information Bricciuskapelle. 6 km west-southwest of the peak there is lake Sandersee. 0.8 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Brennkogelkees, 5 km west from the summit there is also glacier Freiwandkees. The peak is located southeast of the valley Käfertal.
