Hoher Beil is 2670 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 3 km north-northwest of peak Großer Landeggkopf. The nearest mountain hut is St. Pöltner Hütte, located 5km west. A bit closer is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte, which is located 3km to the south-southeast. 3 km south-southeast from the summit there is glacier Landeggkees, 4 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Sonnblickkees. Southwest of the summit is the valley Tauerntal.
