Kleinschotterer is 2998 meter high peak and is part of the Natural Park Gruppo di Tessa. The peak is located 1.7 km northeast of peak Trübwand. The nearest mountain hut is Lodnerhütte - Rifugio Cima Fiammante, located 2km south-southeast. A little further is bivouac Zielhütte. 6 km east-southeast of the peak there is lake Langsee - Lago Lungo. 4 km north-northwest from the summit there is glacier Gurgler Ferner, 7 km north-northwest from the summit there is also glacier Kleinleitenferner. The peak is located west of the valley Kamltal.
