Sonnenstein

Description:
Sonnenstein is 1714 meter high peak in the Kaiser Mountains. The peak is located 1.1 km southwest of peak Kopfkraxen and east-northeast above the mountain pasture Kaiser-Hochalm. The nearest mountain hut is Hans-Berger-Haus, located 3km north-northeast. A little further is bivouac Babenstuberhütte. The monument Günther Freiherr v. Saar is also located near the top. 5 km west-southwest of the peak there is lake Hintersteiner See. The peak is located east-southeast of the valley Gaisbachtal.
