Vernagl is 3352 meter high peak and is part of the Ötztal Alps. The peak is located on the border between the country of Italy and the country of Austria. The nearest mountain hut is Brandenburger Haus, located 4km north-northeast. A little further is bivouac Ramolalm. 0.8 km south-southeast from the summit there is glacier Langtauferer-Joch-Ferner, 2 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Hintereisferner. The peak is located east-southeast of the valley Langtauferer Tal - Vallelunga.
