I'm an atheist and think that we should treat existing crosses with maximum respect and renew/maintain them if needed, because like it or not they are part of the mountain or the ascent experience. But I'm against erecting new crosses, especially on one's own initiative/just anywhere someone feels like it. I'm only for it if there was a cross before but it was removed for political or similar reasons.

From Zavetšče the most annoying part is the last half hour, when you ascend the very crumbly section to the ridge or summit. Kotlici are in my opinion similarly annoyingly crumbly, so if it went OK there, it will go OK on Jalovec too. Helmet is mandatory, because it really flies down a lot. Right from Zavetšče you ascend via a couple of steep cables, svk at own discretion. The slope of Veliki Ozebnik, its ridge, also requires care due to moderate crumbliness, but not precipitous.

Over Vrbanove gor, very short descent (say half an hour) to the start of the climb to Rjavina, descent from Rjavina along the ridge (can use another shortcut), return to Kot. Personally tested, by far the most pleasant variant where all climbing is done upwards.

I think it's meant that from a distance it looks impassable without gear, in reality, so when you get to it, it's passable without trouble.

Nice report! Can get to Koča na Gozdu with summer tires or better leave lower?

If you're at the hut thirsty and hungry outside opening hours, it means you took too little food and drink with you! If it says closed, it's closed.

If anyone hiked there in the last days, please report conditions on the path via Povden. Very icy? Avalanche danger? Because for the weekend I might go up that way, but I only have crampons. Down of course via pl. Razor.

Vansims, nice report. Last year's incredible autumn really allowed insanely beautiful mountain trips. I also experienced some unforgettable ones.

Anyone who slips on the mixed gravel-stone terrain like the south path from Mojstrovka can get a worse injury than just a sore butt. Some people have problems with such descents (knee issues, inexperience...) and I think it's right to warn about it. Just recently I had a case where the person happily climbed Hanzova but had bad trouble on the "easy" south descent.

Haha, I like such news. And I think even if it were Slovenes, it wouldn't just pass by (at least local) media. Anyway, the winning quote: "web navigation that doesn't show snow on the road, but there is, if we express it with somewhat less juicy imagery than the rescued tourists, unreliable"...so the GRS guys could learn Arabic alongside cursing in Czech, Polish, Italian...

Me too on Saturday. I won't attach photos, you have to see it live! The wind was strong but fun. If you had all zippers and buttons everywhere properly closed, you could calmly surrender to the wind's play

If you're asking about snow: everything is completely bare.

@velkavrh Thanks for info. I expected even lower, it'll be bearable. (if no wind)
