I wore out Tibet in one and a half seasons then bought Nepal, which fell apart before one year. Sole totally worn after a few months of use and started detaching from the boot after one month. Then seams cracked on both sides of both heels. Still, I think Nepal is a bit better shoes than Tibet. Also have Peak model, which fell apart after three years of use. Still, I think all listed models are quite comfortable and functional. I switched to La Sportiva but would still recommend Alpina to someone who can't afford something better quality. Will just have to pay a little less money more often...

I strongly suggest that you don't go there if it starts to rain...

It's nice when a person admits their failure and it doesn't represent an obstacle but a challenge for them. A few pull-ups every morning and this via ferrata will be a piece of cake too. But you realized the difference between a secured hiking path and a via ferrata. The latter paths are a newer thing here and the difference is more than obvious. Arm strength, from my experience, is almost not needed on secured hiking paths, but on via ferratas it's such that whoever can't lift themselves with a backpack using both arms and can't hold still with one arm for at least a few seconds won't enjoy the path but will more or less suffer. Good footwear with good rubber is also important because the purpose of via ferratas (at least in my opinion) is also climbing and not just pulling along the cable.

On Sunday we walked with the group Via Italiana, Slovenian and Italian route. Via Italiana in my opinion doesn't reach the extremely difficult label. What should be so extremely demanding on this path? The path is well protected and technically not demanding since there are tons of pegs and also bolts. Arm strength on this path isn't important as there's no problematic section where the path is 'overhanging'. The only thing I'd highlight on this path are the exceptional passages, which are quite exposed, but very well secured. Technically the Slovenian route seems more difficult to me especially if there's an awkward person ahead who walks on scree instead of rock and constantly loosens terrain and triggers stones. Ahead of me I had a young and scared newbie, who didn't make three steps without triggering at least one stone. On such a path I think it's important to watch where and how we step. Sometimes you just need to put in a bit of effort for others' safety. For descent we chose Italian route as it's really technically easy and offers beautiful views. On this path though you see more than you'd want... e.g. first time in high mountains I saw ballerina shoes. A bit lower it was fun on the snow patch as one couple in sneakers was more on their butt than on their feet. After a few meters the girl finally reached scree but even there she rubbed her butt more than the sneakers

Today I did this tour and no snow left anywhere. Seemed exceptionally nice to me and expected much harder climb from descriptions.

I have Inook snowshoes and I'm very satisfied with them. They're easy to put on and take off, and mounting on the backpack is easy with a bit of imagination.

The landlady Milka from that homestead also makes an extremely good strudel

As for the crackling-covered žganci, they have them at Komna. I almost always order them there.

I would praise the team at Sedmerih jezerih and at Prehodavcih. At both huts I had a really pleasant feeling that you are not a burden to them. It is always nice at Komna too.

I was there two days ago. Had ice axe in hand for descent to Dolič. For ascent to Triglav from Planika no ice axe needed. A bit above hut still one snowfield, crossable with care. Whole secured path section clear.

300 grams is minimum I was talking about food and not about fruit I've never looked at fruit as a meal.

Lately I drink only warm mountain tea on the trail. I have a 3 liter bladder and insulation for it. I sweeten the tea quite strongly and add a couple spoons of cedevita or lemon juice to it. I eat very much, big portions wherever I am and wherever I go I never look at caloric value, but only that I eat about 300 grams of food

Has anyone been to the seven lakes these days? I'm interested if anything is trodden to the winter room at Prehodavci and what the path over Komarča is like after ice? Thanks for any replies.

Really nice photos. On Sunday I experienced a similar trip with snowshoes and I must say these things offer a lot of enjoyment on such paths.
