Is anyone going touring tomorrow? I'm a beginner in this field, so I'd like to join at least at the start of the route for better orientation. Lp Matjaz

Hi. Tomorrow I plan to go to the mountain, so regarding the conditions, what do experienced hikers recommend? Are snowshoes necessary in these conditions or can it go without? Finally a sensibly written thought

I was also there today with Triglav friends who accompanied Franjo - handsome guy from Mojstrana who lit 80 candles on his cake 6 days ago - to our Father. Mr. Franjo Potočnik fulfilled one of many goals today and added THOUSANDTH ascent to Triglav to his soul.
Surely he hasn't spoken his last word by far, as in soul and looks he's still a real tough guy.
Franjo, it's an honor for me too to be with you today on top of Slovenia.

Tomorrow we plan to Kredarica, anyone can join.

To Kamnik, then bus to Kokrško sedlo

Conditions Krma-Kredarica tonight or in the morning without peculiarities, not much snow. For the summit conditions are fully wintry and despite thaws probably won't change much. Ice axe, crampons and safe step to all heading to our daddy.

On Grossglockner as described by Gric 5.8. nothing new, just that the snowfield under the little Klek saddle is much shorter than his picture shows, but crampons still highly recommended. We two started at 3am by bike from parking at Luckner hut, to upper hut (further bike riding forbidden). From Studl hut over glacier didn't use crampons, although most did. On Studlgrat ridge progressed relatively fast, as we belayed only on slab (III+). Descent by normal route, past Johan hut to Studl hut on snow real pleasure. Then descent to bikes, one beer in hut, then to car and looong way dragging on asphalt home. One-day tour quite strenuous, but when all ends well, you say that's it, nice, and thoughts already drifting elsewhere. Where-when?, hope as soon as possible.

In wonderful weather (later light mists rose, but they didn't disturb too much) we carried out yesterday presumably the final tour, but due to wonderful conditions we unanimously decided that this is not yet. The road is not officially open yet (and the question is when it will be due to rockfall on the long traverse under Mangart summit massif), we drove to the excavator pit at the beginning of the mentioned traverse or smaller parking lot. We ascended and skied the Italian path with twice some tens and over cables good fifty meters of ski carrying. Due to great conditions we couldn't resist also the Slovenian gully, which we skied screaming with joy. We join Igor’s tour assessment. Stane, Matjaž and Tomaž P.S. Digging in Rabeljsko Lake was already pure excess...

Yesterday beautiful sunny weather bike from Predel to Mangart saddle then foot Slovenian to top, descent Italian path. Car to last tunnel then snow on road, to summit rockfall on road as Igor said. Wall and descent conditions super but caution needed, up there winter and snow.

A bit late but anyway. On Sunday and Monday we wandered around Hohe Tauern. First day from Lucknerhaus to Studelhütte. Winter hut is open for sleeping, enough space. Wood and stove available. But encountered terrible dirt, so cleaned first. Hard to believe such slobs among us. 2nd day to Johannhütte via normal route to summit. Conditions great, sun no wind and quite warm for the altitude. Then descent back to Little Klek, traverse to glacier and yodeling skied to car.
