Hello!

Has anyone been to Strma Peč (Monte Cimone) via Via Norina recently? I'm interested if the Dunja stream is passable despite the lack of a bridge and if there's any snow on the path or if crampons and ice axe are needed.

Has anyone been to Razor from Krnica via Kriška stena recently? I'm wondering if there are major snow issues on the route, especially in the Kriška stena section, and if crampons might be needed.

Hi, Venčeslav,

no worries, it goes with one ice axe only. I think snowfield could be avoided - bypass under extreme ledge, but since putting on/taking off crampons takes just 2x2 minutes, crossing snowfield with winter gear seems simplest to me.

pity we didn't arrange and exchange car keys... I actually did the same tour yesterday alone, but in the opposite direction (Krnica, Kriška stena, Kriški podi, Razor, Planja, Vršič) and I also had to walk along the Vršič road at the end. Well, true I had an easier task, because I was going downhill...

since I haven't seen any open thread on touring ski courses, I'll try here - could someone please give me some advice or recommendation on which or whose course to choose? I have no knowledge in this area, so I'd have to start from the basics..., but I'd like to learn touring skiing comprehensively and qualitatively.

Hi,

I confirm remolog's info that crampons and ice axe not needed in summer, but add another alternative option - if you want to start ascent before gondola starts operating, you can day before take gondola to Lagazuoi (last ride at 16.45) and sleep in hut, they are very very friendly, accommodation super, food even better. Not to mention the planned ferrata Good luck!

Mary, congratulations on the ascent! I'm interested if maybe someone last Saturday, on 3.3.2012, from Grintovec photographed two mountaineers climbing towards Kočna summit from Dolcev direction, because I'd really like to see that photo. Thanks in advance for possible help!

On Saturday 24.9.2011 I forgot the camera in front of Bivak II, which I noticed only at the top of Middle Rokav. On later return to the bivouac the camera safely waited for me on the shelf in the bivouac. To the kind finder (hope he is a user of this portal) I sincerely thank for the shown honesty and help!!! Hope we meet sometime and I can repay for the kindness!
