Hi. I'm interested in buying Suunto watch with altimeter. This is the only function that actually interests me (compass on watch doesn't help e.g. for azimuth, heart rate doesn't interest me). Does anyone have fresh news on the trail Lafo Fedaia-ferata along East ridge-Punta Penia (Marmolada)-descent via normale over rock jump and glacier. Last year apparently torn cables in descent, how are snow conditions? Planning visit in August. Thanks and good luck to all!

The path from Kanja saddle is beautiful, some new cables, old ones somewhat too loose but ok for (mandatory) belay. A bit higher unprotected climbing on ridge. Also via difficult to summit over extremely crumbly spots - carefully and slowly! Suggest (admittedly long) descent via south slopes to Soča and hitch or cars back to Zadnja Trenta. Due to objective dangers and technical difficulty the path would deserve higher respect. SUMMIT BOOK at top is FULL. Lots of beautiful, solitary and safe pleasures!

Are Cassin C 12 also semi-automatic, because on Igluj's site only automatic ones with straps are listed. Can you suggest some other model for this use (easier winter hikes, summer snowfields and glaciers, i.e. hiking?)? Thanks a lot for the valuable help, enjoy!

Hi! Can you advise which crampons to buy for La Sportiva Trango S Evo GTX boot? They told me semi-automatic, I'd use them for winter ascents like e.g. Snežnik, Viševnik etc. and summer snowfield crossings or glacier approaches. If maybe in years I buy winter boots, can I now get crampons that fit both? Thanks for info and great experiences to all!
