Does anyone know if Begunjščica is snow-free yet?

On Saturday we visited Roblek and then Begunjščica. The path is mostly snow-free but wet, some snow in places melting very fast. Caution never hurts but I think no problems. I wish you a nice sunny path.

Today via Roblek to Begunjščica: due to sheep drive had to start in Draga. Path to summit snow-free dry, only one 10m snow band a few min before top. North side (from ascenders)-still snowy all paths.

On Saturday wandering around Begunjščica and to summit. Path through Born tunnel, at Preval learned its purpose, over muddy Calvary to top, down to Roblek, then solitary steep path to hut at Završnica spring, to Zelenica hut and Ljubelj. Path needs fitness, interesting.

This morning shortly before seven we started from Ljubelj on the Born path. The tunnel is surprisingly dry given the recent rainfall. Stop at Preval, roe deer fawn on the pick-up container (sad).
The path over Kalvarija is hindered more by wet overgrown brush than mud, soaks you completely.
On the ridge to V. Vrh light drizzle till Roblek. Views to Julijci, Bled, Upper Sava valley, Zelenica..., Stol capped.
Descent to Završnica scree less slippery, Smokuška planina colorful blooming meadows.
Past Zelenica hut to Ljubelj, nice not too wet day ended.

Does anyone know the condition of the path Zelenica - Roblekov dom, is there still snow on the path?

On Saturday 27.6.2009 with parents and larger group on this path. No snow, wonderful path, only fog bothered us, no views. Along the path full of mountain flowers, which we took to the valley - with camera Go boldly on the path, I wasn't scared either (11 years old)

Here you see how beautiful gentians are already growing at the top of the path over Kalvarija to Begunjščica.

Otherwise, the entire green valley that stretches from the beginning of Smokuška planina to SW (there the first two weekend houses have sign 'Zelenica'), to the end of the ski slope at Ljubelj to NE, most (incl. locals) call Zelenica. Also on many maps it's like that.

I'm joining the forum with info for less brave "hill climbers". Yesterday my wife and I headed from Ljubelj over Zelenica aiming to climb Begunjščica via Roblek's hut. Sadly stopped at the path section where ascent ends, rewarded with nice view of Lake Bled and where path starts crossing steep slopes. Fatal was the downward view; resulting nausea and return.
So sensible to warn that for less brave or height-fearful this path can be dizzying experience.
Forum not just read by experienced hikers, but often less experienced or beginners. Better that way than 2 sneaker specimens! who asked me about path to Begunjščica and how far.
Some don't even read where going, really strange no more mountain deaths.

Today with a friend started at Ljubelj. Went to Roblek's hut on Begunjščica and back to Zelenica. Quite hot, a bit strenuous as first time here. Back already a bit cloudy just right. At Zelenica last stop then home. Excellent tour.

Start at Ljubelj, past Zelenica to Roblek. Coffee stop and continue to summit. Up top it's windy, windbreaker handy. Look around, sun everywhere except clouds piling over Julian Alps. Descent via Kalvarija to Preval, quench thirst with cold beer. Hut full of visitors, trouble hiding from the "crowd" "blazing full". Down valley via Born path, at three back at start. Nice loop tour. On Friday 7.8. we did Ljubelj past Zelenica to Begunjščica summit then down to Roblek (lunch), over Roža to Prevala then Born path to car. Nice scenic tour took a little less than eight hours with stops.

Since I couldn't get to Vršič by car today, I swapped the planned trip to both Mojstrovkas for Begunjščica..
Conditions: gravel road from the guesthouse in Draga in very poor condition. Looks like they haven't repaired it after the last rain. I, like many or all, decided to go on foot.
Path from Roblekov dom towards the top extremely nicely arranged, hardened, supported, undergrowth sawn off; even better than 4 months ago when I was last there. Full praise to all who participated in this work!
Weather: fog. Due to humidity or mud, a bit more caution was needed. I think it's always like that when Begunjščica is in the clouds.
