Today I went up the Central and down via Šentanski couloir. Great conditions, nice steps made on the Central, same down via Šentanca. Upper part of Šentanca fully covered in snow, icy here and there. One ice axe enough for ascent and descent (the second one I took just in case stayed on the backpack).

On 28.1.2024 I went to Begunjščica for sunrise, this time up and down the Šentanski couloir. Conditions were super then, as was the weather. Noticed only an opast at the top of the Šentanski couloir, but didn't photograph it.

Ascent through Central, descent via Šentanski couloir. Conditions same as previous: frozen in first part to Zelenica, at Vrtača we put on crampons, steps in Central, little snow though, descent down Šentanca where snow was already more churned from descents. Opast directly above start of descent into Šentanski couloir, so caution.

Otherwise today whole procession of people to Begunjščica, at top surely 30 of us. Conditions fantastic!

And that big stone from the video rolled down? Ugh.

Is this more common in Šentanc in spring days when there are bigger temp. differences? I'm asking because I haven't hiked up/down these parts yet, but I want to tackle this tour this season. Is it different in the middle of hard winter?

Some yesterday's impressions from an interesting path to the top of Begunjščica starting in Draga. The path itself without peculiarities, tomorrow maybe already different.

Yesterday's impressions from nice and scenic path to Begunjščica starting at Ljubelj. From there continued through Born tunnel to Prevala and path over Kalvarija to Begunjska Vrtača. After short break then to Veliki vrh. Descent same path. Path without peculiarities. Except Kalvarija path, which gets steeper every year. Views wonderful.

Last Wednesday, up via Zelenica, down via Born tunnels. Path without peculiarities, štruklji at Prevala still 1 portion for 2 velik nasmeh

About 2 weeks ago, sleeping on top of Begunjščica.
Start from ŽP Žirovnica and past the lake up Završnica valley. After quite some time turned right up to Tomčeva koča. From there via usual past Roblek to summit. Quite windy so built windbreak from stones. Back via Poljska planina bit further on ridgelet and down to Titova vas, where path poorly visible. Up good 5 hrs, down 3.5.
