Also my humble opinion on this ferrata which I climbed today. You really need strength in your arms, since there are no footholds for feet in some places and it's pretty hard to pull yourself over. (This week someone couldn't manage the overhang and they had to help him descend back.) In the continuation it's more walking on ground than climbing. In wet it can really be dangerous for slipping, because rocks in some places are already getting polished, which makes the ascent even harder. For the ascent I spent good three quarters of an hour. (90 minutes estimate on the sign seems exaggerated to me) Despite there being more and more such ferratas, they don't appeal to me, I'll stick to hiking pathless terrain and less known paths, as at least for me it's greater pleasure to free solo a I or II than ascent along a cable.

Miro, I also sign under the last sentence. But you exaggerated a bit regarding the polished rocks. The descendants will feel that seriously. Hopefully the route has already been cleared of stones within arm and leg reach, because after opening everything was still moving and flying into the valley.

Hello, next week I plan to head to Czech Hut via ferrata, has anyone been around there in the last days, is the ferrata still snowy? Best thanks!

On Sunday we went to Ceska koca via ferrata with mates. Small snow patch above rusevje (just above retreat possibility) above first part, size 5 m, really easy to bypass the snow patch to the left. Right at ferrata exit snow starts. Luckily ferrata is routed on right side of exit gully, so sun melted snow here earlier than left (where still snow), so last steep meters of ferrata dry. Snow just few last steps, nothing dramatic. Cables condition ok, some looser, one peg near top loose, one lower barely holds. Ground not obstructing much. Descent on path under hut to cable car upper part still snowy, rotten snow (might freeze this weekend with cooling).

Yesterday Gorenjska was entirely under cloud cover, only on Jezersko there was a window of clear sky. At parking by Davo I gear up with touring gear and head towards Andrej's bench. A bit above it new road for timber extraction from last glaze storm. Trail leaves it at well-made wooden steps. Snow and ice start above Vojtca, so don't go there in sneakers (English family with kids). At snow tongue before hut I turn to plateau before Sp Ravni, where I notice fall of snow avalanche over bare wall, indicating thaw even at heights. Steep softened heart below I cross with crampons working double steps. On shoulder Zg Ravni snow became a shade more compact. Above total calm prevailed, which I disturbed only by myself. Below wall I continue on skis, due to renewed snow slide choose middle wall gully, protected above by wall protruding tooth-like top without gullies. Above cauldron to wall prevailing wind crust good 10cm new snow. Descent first medium on half-penetrable crust, at cauldron frozen neve, no trace of turns behind me. Sp Ravni quite softened, below at end super ride on slush on harder base, whole route nice skiable south-facing snow, ending far into tongue to marked trail. In valley load some larch shoots and head to warmer marshland. I wish you a blessed Easter.

Altimeter, thermometer, Mammut Snow on Sp Ravni slope still less than half a meter, more on plateaus.

Does anyone know how the Ferrata to Czech Hut is, is it reasonably dry?

From Ravenska Kočna to Štularjeva planina leads also a perfect gravel road that would shorten the path to the Czech Hut via Prst by about 250m altitude, about 40 min. When on Saturday below at the cable car start I saw the barrier, it was locked, but on the planina there were at least about 5 cars, even with foreign plates, which somehow got up. Maybe someone knows what the system there is, will it always be only an internal road or is it possible somehow (how?) past the barrier? (before someone gets upset - no, really no idea to drive a car in the mountains and if necessary to go on foot we will go on foot. But if the plan further is the path to Grintovec or Kočne, which are quite long and strenuous tours, then shortening that initial slogging through the forest would be handy)
