On Saturday we hiked the route suggested by @nadka. From Rudno polje up to Viševnik, then descent to Srenjski preval, then to Mrežce, Lipanski vrh, Brdo and Debela peč. From Debela peč down to Lipanca and back to Rudno polje. @kolobar's timetable holds - we took over ten hours (with all breaks), net hiking 7.5 h. Pictures here: Viševnik - Debela peč P.S.: Path from Lipanca to Rudno polje starts some 15 meters above Lipanca (not 15 minutes).

@mary Our mountains are wonderful and it's good that our body can handle all these efforts. It's called Lipanca so everything will be nice and right, and best regards.

thanks, the whole day was pure pleasure... Both the first and the last two-thousander on this loop tour (Viševnik, Debela peč) due to easier access in all seasons obviously gaining popularity...

Lunca, we two were up there on Sunday too, did a semi-circular tour from the monument past Lipance and over Spodnja Brda to Okroglež and Debela peč. At the summit no one but us, then in less than an hour a rush of hikers, so we headed back past Okroglež to Brdo, where we met hardly any hikers, then down to Lipance and to the car. Pleasant day in good company, especially if you avoid besieged peaks..

Today with pleasant company to Debela peč. Started from Medvedova konta, via Lipance, sat a bit before the hut where there was a crowd of visitors and to Debela peč. Weather gave us sun, no wind, nice path, almost a pleasant walk through wonderful forest, then up steeper slope to the top. At top indescribable beautiful views, lots of people, even some nice flowers here and there like spring, almost unusual. Then after long basking in pleasant sunshine decided to go to another peak - Brdo and from there closer admired our father. No pics this time sadly, but @Parkeljc's and @Lunca's are very nice and nothing changed up there since, still just as beautiful Beautiful, very beautiful day behind us

Today I was at Debela peč. Views top-notch! At the parking lot in Medvedova konti there was only one car parked when leaving. Upon arrival quite a few, the picture says it all.

Today our feet also took us to Debela peč and Okroglež. We started at the monument where it was already quite packed with cars, met lots of hikers.. some already returning. At Debela peč there was a crowd, nothing different on the other peaks, which were massively visited. Weather wonderful, views too... According to the forecast the last such warm and dry weekend...

With boyfriend planning to start the year with trip to Debela peč (start Šport hotel). Who knows how the path is now? Possible without crampons? Thanks for any info and happy winter days to all!

Without crampons it goes as long as it goes, and if you stop in time according to your judgment, you go back or put on crampons. In the summit dome of Debela peč it will definitely be icy, and also already before on the steps of the path to Sp.Brd. Possible ice covered with new snow, so crampons not superfluous for first-timers after the last snowfall.

Here's how I'll put it: crampons definitely belong in the backpack, about their (non)use you then decide on the spot itself. Don't rely too much on posts on internet forums; conditions can change completely from today to tomorrow. I've even experienced putting on crampons in the afternoon on descent where in the morning on ascent I hadn't even thought of them. ARSO says the zero isotherm is currently somewhere between 800 and 1100 meters asl, at 2000m it should be around -7° - that's already a temperature at which something can freeze. Good luck!

Last ascent of this year to Debela peč. Morning on Pokljuka very cold, from Lipance onwards some postholing, summit almost all windblown. On the return a nice sunny day developed. Happy New Year's Eve wherever you will be and safe steps into the coming year. A few more pictures:
