Does anyone perhaps have info where one could get Panasonic Lumix TZ40? I didn't spot it on amazon either.

Hribovc88, I hope the website address will be of joy and use to you. The photos were taken with a regular mobile phone. Many people, right on this web, helped me with data. Turbo was especially kind and attentive. I miss him a lot, probably others do too. Yes, if we really meet in the mountains sometime, we'll have a drink. Until then, safe steps.

Sorry Hribovc, but don't you think you're complicating your purchase a bit already... everything was explained to you 10x in detail how and what ..and also that with a camera for around 200 eur you can't reinvent the wheel.. with proven manufacturers models differ only slightly (I doubt you'll delve so deep into settings and details that you'll notice), what to watch out for we've written to you 5 times already, so just decide which one you have more sympathy for and buy it.... otherwise the mountains will run away before you catch them in the lens .. no hard feelings lp

In between there are at least good posts from those who know what they're doing.

I'm in quite a quandary or dilemma, because I really don't know which one to decide for.

Nicely presented Suzana. Which camera did you take the photos with?

My faithful companion for several years is Canon PowerShot SX100IS. Now there are much more powerful successors of this very handy series on the market.

Aha, I assume that's the predecessor of this Canon Powershot SX150IS, which the mountain lover has.

Hello. Although both cameras are very good, I would still give my vote here for Lumix TZ30. This series has been winning awards for the best travel camera for years. In addition to my DSLR, I've been using Lumix as a second camera for years (first TZ3, now TZ25). I could hardly wish for a better camera for use in the mountains. Small dimensions but extremely capable and durable, and wonderful pictures in all conditions. Anyway, read this comparison too, it says a lot: http://snapsort.com/compare/Canon-SX240-vs-Panasonic-TZ30. Best regards, Aljoša

@Hribovc88: You'll make a diploma out of cameras, as Lidija wrote take Canon sx 240, but if you think you'll get a camera for 200-300 euros that makes super duper pictures, you're mistaken. Here you have the m-foto website, the camera is worth about 1500 euros with lens. http://www.m-foto.si/?page_id=4017
