16.6.... Golica, Krvavka, Markeljnova planina, is a nice loop trail. Narcissuses are just a nice memory till next spring. They bloomed only for a good 14 days. But gentians and globeflowers are blooming, can't go without primroses under Mala Golica. The road through Savske jame is nice except for one already driven ditch. There are still many visits to Golica, as the summit is attractive in all seasons. https://jelenkamenmajdag.blogspot.com/2019/06/po-zimski-gor-cez-savske-dol-golica.html

Golica is white-rimmed but not from narcissuses. For their fragrant whiteness under Mala Golica wait another good two weeks . Paths on the southern side are dry.

Considering that cooling and snow up to 1000m is forecast for Tuesday, maybe a few days later.. we'll see last year they bloomed fully only at the beginning of June, this year they are quite early..

Golica 9.5.2020 We started from Planina pod Golico and took the eastern path past the shepherd's hut. Now it's no longer a path as described but a proper road. Along this road we went further to the last parking lot, where there's a sign that the road ahead is private property. A bit later they are renovating a house/hut... and probably they rerouted the path so you don't go past it, but before it up a quite steep slope. Further on, they carved blazes into some trees.... which lead you onto pathless terrain. So you climb blindly until you find the path again higher on the grassy slopes. That path leads to the hut, but we went straight towards the summit. Maybe some path marker knows better how it's supposed to be? There are two wooden signs saying Golica 45min. At the summit there were about 1 million people, the other million was between the summit and the hut. Insane. They serve drinks, no food. No daffodils though.

Lukito, I haven't gone on that path yet. But I was interested where you get to the hut. Otherwise, there are no daffodils on Golica, they bloom under Mala Golica and towards Suha saddle.

Majdag, on the picture I posted we went up on the left, descended on the right. Where the red track is far left there's some house/hut/? There I think they rerouted the path, because from there on the path is very poorly trodden or disappears and the marks are made unlike anywhere else (carved into trees). But I don't know enough to say more. I believe there will be even more rush to Golica in the coming days, so I wrote - so no one is surprised.

That hut is nicely visible if you go on the lower path from Jekljevo sedlo. Where in Planina pod Golico did you start, past Fenc or Korlnov rov? According to the map even lower. Thanks Lukito, daffodils almost always whiten the snow a bit before full blooming of all buds. And no problem if no frost. They will still be on display after this rain, for me too.

We parked at almost the last bend. Then through the village to (I assume) the electrical distribution box, a bit further from the farm tourism and then up the meadow. Later straight through the forest and we reached the house with the sign "RAJ NA ZEMLJI". Further through the forest along the meadow and we reached the macadam road and headed west. That's how we got to the sheepfold (at least as in the description) and later to that hut where they then directed us right into the steep slope.

We did a trip to Golica, Klek and Hruški vrh as a circular tour. We parked in the village of Planina pod Golico, ascended to Golica and continued along the ridge over Klek to Hruški vrh. From there a gentle path led us back to the starting point. Although the daffodils were in full bloom a week later, the trip at the beginning of May was very pleasant. The varied path along the Karawanks ridge runs along the state border and is scenic, offering views of the Julian Alps and Carinthia. Safe steps! MPS, gorgeous! and also Eddie Vedder thanks for the video, I was on Hruški that March day because a meteorite fell, windy with real bora blowing from Austria, almost blown back off the top but pure pleasure.

Golica today.... the path past Korlnov rov is all muddy and slippery. The winter path is well marked and mostly dry. Only on the rocks it was a bit slippery due to muddy shoes. They serve inside the hut too, just with a mask to the table. At the top fog and sun ruled, interesting. Also on the continuation path over Krvavka all the way to Suha saddle it was the same. Lots of white princesses and they will be on display the whole week. On Markeljnov planina dandelions are blooming. The road over Savske jame is nicer than last time past Pristava. Be well, I was.... https://jelenkamenmajdag.blogspot.com/2020/05/oblacki-in-meglice-in-bele-princeske.html
