Hello, Last week I was heading to Golica, but when I turned from Jesenice towards Planina Golica the road was already closed at the beginning for those who don't live beyond the closure. Please, if anyone can let me know what's happening or knows if it will be open this weekend. And how are the conditions on Golica? Regards, J

Last weekend no closure, two weeks ago yes. Anyway, with these closures it's over for this year, so you go up by car without problem. Narcissus in full bloom, so go see them while they last oh and conditions, path dry, muddy in places, snow only on top of Golica (small patches) Regards

Golica, Suha saddle, Markeljnova planina, Savske jame... Start from parking lot past Fenc. Continue on road, tree felling going on. At the bend upwards and then on easier path to the hut. White narcissi fields still visible at first glance, but narcissi wilted, blooming season over for this year. But nice fresh ones still on sunny slopes and around the hut. Golica is always magical, with wonderful views of the Julian Alps and Karawanks. For those whose health no longer allows, wander with me, in pictures on the link.. Good luck! https://jelenkamenmajdag.blogspot.com/2021/06/jaz-pa-pojdem-na-golico.html

Everything nice and right, nature is really something special, especially flowers on Struška and Golica. Sunday hot and humid weather wasn't the best choice for the tour, of course start early in the morning. But what when it's a long drive to Jesenice. The path we chose was full of flowers from Jeseniška Planina. We started at the first parking in Planina pod Golico, then direction Rožca, on the planina we choose our uphill path and thus reach the marked path coming from Rožca direction. Below Klek summit descend about 200m to the saddle, then up again. Path lonely, met only 4 hikers. Local woman warns us about bear and bad path destroyed by water. We arrived at the top at half past one. From top we quickly descend to the hut, as we had no drinks. But what disappointment one experiences here. I am a person who doesn't only look at nature's beauty, but also shortcomings. Specifically, inside the hut mess, in front of hut broken benches. Years ago I remember parasols outside, this time no trace of them. A bit of shade you could get under the eaves. We were very disappointed and surprised that this hut can be so neglected, surroundings untidy, nettles around. Some drinks also ran out. Do caretakers just cash in from hikers? Is this the essence of our mountaineering tourism that offers so little here. I wonder if PD Jesenice has any say in all this. I know a landslide of criticism will pour now, because I dare to write something that doesn't praise, but criticizes. No matter, I wrote what is true, without embellishing. LP! Jelica

jprim, there used to be nice wooden signposts, now they are all faded, inscriptions barely visible, or they are gone.. Yeah, caretakers and managers change, everything starts to decay if not maintained. If you allow, I'll send this to PD Jesenice, as the hut and maintenance are under their care. What is true is true, the hut is in a beautiful spot, safe trip!

@rekar Come on, join PD Jesenice in work with mountain huts, so you'll see "how they fill their pockets". Do you even imagine the cost list of a high-mountain hut like Koča na Golici: - truck delivery of food and drinks to the cableway - transport by cableway - electricity costs - gas procurement - firewood procurement - drinks procurement - food procurement - cableway maintenance costs - hut maintenance costs - hut insurance - staff costs So far only costs. From here human factors: - quality food preparation - ongoing maintenance of order and cleanliness AND FRIENDLY ATTITUDE TO VISITORS-GUESTS. If they have no "luck" choosing staff, they're "screwed" as we say. The same club also manages Shelter under Špičak. Two employees work there approx. 3 months. What do you say how much "profit" the club has from that hut, consider helicopter costs. Real nonsense about PD volunteers filling pockets is an offensive statement.

Julius Don't ferment nonsense. High-alpine hut???? Don't defend irregularities that happen and don't bash rekar, since I wrote the first criticism. I think it's still necessary to write something to PZS.

I'm wondering why rekar's post is no longer visible. On whose order was the post deleted. Regards!

I know PZS hut classification, but I think huts with cable car access are not high-alpine. That's just my humble opinion again.

jprim Look, what you think or what I think doesn't matter here at all. Classification of mountain huts is as I wrote. You say you know it. In our mountains there are at least 10 such huts supplied by cable car. But you won't tell me those are just ordinary taverns. Rekar probably realized he got a bit carried away with his claim that ... And then withdrew his post. I didn't object to your criticism at all, so I don't understand your bad mood about my writing. And one more thing. You were poorly served on Sunday, my friends and I at Stol got nothing but fresh air, even though it said everywhere that the hut opens on June 20. Don't get angry, anger harms beauty. Best regards.

@julius I'm not angry, just deeply disappointed with our situation in the mountains. Huts would only trade, but offer very little for that money. Regards!

jprim On that I don't disagree with you at all. What do you say to my and my friend's incident last year at Vodnik hut. When we entered the dining room at the end of July last year around 8 o'clock and looked for a free table with our eyes, the caretaker yelled at us and with the excuse of pension guests and fulfilling "Covid" rules literally threw us out of the hut. At the end he said to wait in front of the window where he would serve us after feeding his guests. He did that despite light drizzle and strong wind outside. Since my nerve gave out, I sent him to his birthplace and went on.

No no don't mess with nonsense. I won't allow myself that anymore. I wrote the real situation and there was nothing to praise. Running out of fluids is my responsibility.

This is not nonsense. Because of such who can't pack a backpack even for a trip around Lake Bled my friends from GRS have work then. For what you didn't like they wave to me smoothly. Best regards
