Bear Mitko has been at Abram for almost 18 years. Before that they had a female bear.

a reasonable person helps poor little animals as long as it's not possible to release them back into the wild. I did write REASONABLE at the beginning. and when I read when a person writes that the bear feels good - did the bear tell the journalist that? alone? what would the bear have to say if they released him after 5 years, and the bear came back after 12 years to tell his story that no one would know? Then the journalist would have something to write about....

Primož, if you go after the poor cub whose mother was killed by wild hunters, all honor to you, but if you kill the mother to get the cub, that's a completely different story. Otherwise, the debate whether death (perhaps quite painful) is better or life in captivity is more philosophical. In criminal law, life imprisonment is definitely a milder punishment than the death penalty.

in this case (Abram) it obviously was that they killed the mother to get to the cub. Otherwise, they would have released the bear after certain years. Criminal law? besides everything, I think it's primitive that one person has to give another person permission to keep an animal in captivity. Hello? are animals property of people? yes obviously they are. Well anyway, I no longer wish to go to Abram, even less to photograph an animal in a cage (regardless of the cage size). Gradiška tour yes, Abram no.

Killed the mother to get the cub? The above article says a bit differently. Well, maybe what it says is a lie... nowadays lies in the media are quite common... especially in political topics. But for now I haven't heard of that other theory. Regarding permissions, who can have animals and who not... who grants the concession, who can cut the forest? Mine coal? Pump water or oil? Aren't those also natural resources that belong to all of us? And yet someone decides who can exploit them and who not. Anyway, I didn't intend to start a debate on whether death or captivity is better for animals (and I didn't), but I'm withdrawing from this debate, at least under this topic, we can continue it elsewhere.

Yes, well, I was on this path myself, and I say again - this is not a ferrata, but a very demanding path, climbing. LP!

Yesterday we set off along the Furlan path to Gradiška Tura, we continued the path to Abram. We returned past the chapel and Vrh Plaza. Path without special features, protections impeccable.

I also went on this path today. I'd mention that the orientation, somewhere in the middle of the path towards Abram, is quite messed up due to tree felling. Of course there's no snow on the entire path anymore. Regards

I was there too on Saturday. Of course no more snow! Via ferrata well protected and marked, only that beam on the balcony is placed crosswise so that there's a higher chance of tripping on the flat than on the path. Don't know why they removed the signposts that nicely showed the path difficulty at the fork, instead put a barely readable post and for the easier option even wrote it's an easy path, which can mislead a beginner or someone with vertigo. Marking to Abram is poor. Ok where that felled tree is maybe due to logging but at that house really such a small plaque and all marks faded. Wasted at least half hour more. Way back even worse marked. No excuse logging here. If I didn't know where I came from I wouldn't find back. That's bordering on mocking people. @kolesar, did we meet? There was another from Trieste on top speaking broken Slovenian. Report follows!

I was also on the Gradiška tour and then to Furlan shelter on Sunday. Markings are really a bit tricky due to felling, you need to turn around a bit and watch well. We were three and no problem, we found it quickly even though all first time on this tour.

Thanks I didn't know there was a bivak though I've been in these parts many times.
