Anyone heading to Grintovec from Kamniška Bistrica valley should be prepared for the devastation caused by avalanche on the path above the lower cargo cable car station - path partially erased and most of us today climbed large part of path to Kokrsko sedlo via fallen gully approx under cable car where old steel cable lies. Maybe someone wrote this before, didn't follow thread. Otherwise conditions suitable for season - snow starts around 1400m, at 10 a.m. already soft, on return even more. Warm day today.

Yesterday it was snowing... so... not yet Due to avalanche damage, it's already a challenge to the saddle.

Zofka treated herself to a day off, so Dušan and I quickly arranged a Friday visit to Grintovec. I was most curious how the path to the saddle looks after the devastation - horror. The lower third of the forest path was spared, the rest of the path right up to the exit from the forest is practically impassable in some places. Already from below we decided for the approach via the gully, unfortunately it's completely full, so the ascent was quite demanding there too. The cable helped at some key points. On the clearing the snow didn't sink too much, so to Kok. saddle we didn't use crampons. After a short break in the winter room we continued without crampons, we put them on at the Jamah. With height the wind was increasing, at the top it was gale-force. Just a couple of steps descent towards Skuta and the thing is completely different. There the southwest wind runs out of power, where we calmly snacked, changed and enjoyed views towards the orient. It started to close slightly, the wind didn't subside. At the very top the snow is almost icy, no chance to walk upright, the gusts so strong, on descent the snow sank about 20 cm. From the saddle we could slide nicely right to the forest, in the forest I experienced a real obstacle course, which will be an extremely tough morsel for trail runners.

Today from V end - Grintovec. To Kokrško saddle lots of fallen trees and snow over the path. Towards the top of Grintovec lots of snow that is melting, and so when I go back around 12, already sinks decently to the knees. Also the ascent to the top was very hard because of snow.
