Grintovec (17.12.17)

After a month, mainly after abundant precipitation we soberly conquered the king of KSA.
Lower part from somewhere in the middle of the forest we had snowshoes. Under Kokrsko sedlo conditions good, of course obligatory without snowshoes (doesn't hurt to have crampons). Along the right edge we climbed to the saddle. These days it is possible that some avalanche triggers, especially due to huge cornice before Cojzeva hut. Conditions further good, without sinking. Before the roof we put on crampons. No tracks anywhere and also below at Skuta split sign deep under snow. Weather fantastic.
Tracks will be covered in the next days. Under Cojzeva hut watch where you ascend.

Konec-Grintovec... Conditions up to the saddle were good, marked path leaves at approx. 1200 meters then direct to saddle, some postholing but within normal limits. At saddle expected wind awaits me velik nasmeh

, here also put on crampons, although not necessary, became necessary only above 2100 meters... well there no more enjoyment but wind did its jezen

. Still nice day, met quite a few hikers but only one decided roof blows him jezik

...I'm already at Cojzova koča, and I got a welcome from the wind :)

When according to your experiences does the snow clear from Grintovec, so that ascent is possible also without winter gear?

Understand, weather is unpredictable, but is it already possible somewhere in May?

Spring Grintovec, winter conditions, still a huge amount of snow. From Suhadolnik in the morning, icy ground, nice and sunny at the top. We stayed a bit too long, as then everything to the south was rotten. A huge number of visitors behind us, we counted only 15 Croats, ...

Start in Konec at the cargo cable car still in the dark, temperature 8 degrees Celsius, to the hut at Kokrsko sedlo without crampons and no sinking. A little snack and quickly on to the top, snow was soft up to somewhere 2100m, further nicely firm. On descent under 2100m already nicely sinking. Met only one hiker who was still up when I was already heading to the hut. According to the weather forecast snow will be softer every day.

Yesterday 23.4. over dry Taška above Suhadolnik (not exactly for Ferraris) along compact valley and first sounds at Cojzova. Before Streha crampons and then fairly firm to the top. Cautious return and occasional breakthrough into rocky potholes, ideal for some complicated fractures. Return via hunter's path with some snow in gully to last slab which will stay long. Only chamois can send some projectile mežikanje

Today 01.05.2018 parked a bit above Suhadolnik and via Taška to Cojzova hut, quick refresh there and continued via Grapa over Jame to top.
Ascent in really excellent conditions, snow gave only a couple of cm, no sinking... Pure pleasure, descent via Streha back. Lower part of Streha mandatory crampons and ice axe, as top few cm soft snow, below ice and caution needed. Good luck!

Some were already up there with tennis shoes, of course runners. The path itself surely has more dry ground than snow.

I was at the top, end of last week. From V Koncu - Kokrško sedlo - top. The path is mostly dry, some snow still but it can be avoided. I met a runner at the top in sneakers nasmeh
