The hike across Pohorje starts in Spodnjih Radvanjah, not at the upper cable car station

Thanks for the invite. I believe we'd have a great time, but we've been planning the hike across Pohorje for so long and this time the weather pitied us too, so we'll stick to the original plan. We'll start on Sunday. First night we'll overnight in the hut at Pesek and second in Partizanski dom at Mali Kopa. Thanks again for all tips, though in the end we chose completely third option. We decided to return to Maribor by taxi which we'll pay 65 euros. First the amount seemed high to us, but after a bit of thinking and recalculating, we found out the price is quite correct and competitive. But how is it with the stamp at Klopni vrh if the hut is closed?

@maks57 my acquaintance told me that the stamp is at the top. Before the sale it was in the outdoor box before the entrance doors. Good luck!

Thanks! I also wish you nice weather on the 19th and 20th of May, lots of good cheer, positive energy and plenty of healthy mischievous laughter And if those two days get shaky for you, know that I'm thinking of you. Good luck!

What madness!? I want to reserve an overnight stay in Partizanski dom and find out it's closed. Then I want to reserve an overnight stay in Grmovškov dom under Velika Kopa, but phone number 02 - 88 39 860 has been constantly busy for two days, the other number 031 - 816 - 754 doesn't exist. Of course I got these numbers from the website of the Alpine Association of Slovenia, where it's stated that the hut is permanently open. Does any forum member know another phone number?

Nino, thanks, thanks and thanks again! I can't say how grateful I am. The number 031-680-547 was correct. Now immediately packing the backpack. The alarm clock is already set!

Does anyone have any info on hut openings? I had a 3-day plan (2 nights; Klopni vrh and Grmovškov dom under Velika Kopa, but now my plan fell apart a bit because Klopni vrh is not open) MB-SG. Does anyone have info on Gozdarska koča Šumik? If no other choice, will have to hike in two days

martin4, thanks for kindness and help, but I know how to find phone numbers, make calls, probably didn't phrase the question well, sorry, my mistake. Repeat, if anyone can help differently: -Gozdarska koča Šumik not among PZS contacts and huts, anyone have contact, I searched a bit but didn't find, only some negative responses, apparently something being renovated and opening now, but no "ad" spotted yet. - plan A: 3 days, 2x sleep, Šumik hut if get contact to check opening, Grmovškov dom under Velika Kopa - contact few posts above) - plan B: Koča na Pesku (will find contact), direct to SG if plan A not feasible martin4, if you can help somehow, if first-hand info, grateful, even if "womanly" asking something silly Thanks, good luck.

Today we four (wife, friends couple and me) finished the three-day hike across Pohorje. Since I have fresh and I think interesting info from this wonderful hike, it's right to publish them. First day we hiked from Maribor to Koča na Pesku where we slept. Nothing to add except hut on Klopni vrh as Ninđa posted is closed. But still can get drink there (beer). Second day due to closed Partizanski dom planned to sleep already at Grmovškov dom under Velika Kopa. In Ribniška koča we got into talk with hostess, she assured our info on closed Partizanski dom wrong. Gave tenant number 040-595-465. Called immediately, happily found open, reserved stay and went on. This morning at 7:10 continued to Koča pod Kremžarjevim vrhom, arrived after just two hours walk (our info 2 hours 45 min). New surprise in hut under Kremžarjev vrh. Saw sign to Slovenj Gradec 1 hour (our data 1.5 hours). Asked in hut if sign time holds. Confirmed at bit faster pace surely in one hour to Slovenj Gradec, meaning catch only direct bus to Maribor at 10:35. Skipped desired planned drink and food, went on immediately, arrived Slovenj Gradec station at 10:15 and took bus at 10:35 to Maribor, saved 37 euros as taxi would be 65 euros. Hike across Pohorje is beautiful unforgettable tour. Trail well marked (most marks have number 1), really can't get lost. Only times on some signs bothered us. Example: At Bajgot (Šumik) sign to hut Klopni vrh said 1 hour (our data 1.5 hours). After 30 min walk next sign same hut again 1 hour. Not only case. Times from Partizanka to hut under Kremžarjev vrh already described. To summarize: Before starting main problem how to get from Slovenj Gradec to Maribor where car was, but surprisingly solved without issues. If known real times, would leave Partizanski dom at least 20 min earlier.

Thanks GJure and maks57 for all the info and fresh field report. It looks like I'll decide the same way as you executed the plan. Tomorrow I'll check and call, on Saturday on the trail, just counting on good weather. Thanks, good luck.

These times now appearing on these new metal red signposts are very misleading in many places!!! regards

Don't count on the signs, but on your own speed. Times are given at average speed and 1 h per 300m elevation. I often don't look at them at all, except in evening hours, to see where to look for accommodation (go further or not). I also know a place where signs are 10 m apart, between one and the other there's half an hour difference to that place (written). But I read the "problems" written above, which don't exist for me at all. If two are going, they probably have both cars, then they leave one at the end with the other at the start of the path. Then there are also friends to pick you up (return the favor next time). If you even overpay the whole thing, transports are plentiful. That should be enough. Regards. Those times on the metal signs, I usually halve them.

Once an experienced older mountaineer answered my question at a glance, how much further to the top: Depends on how fast you step.
