@redbull, don't exaggerate Wikipedia: "Tsar was the title of Slavic rulers from Ivan the Terrible onwards. The first Russian tsar was Peter the Great, who crowned himself Tsar of Russia in 1721." Nice winter ascent on Jalovec, nothing more, nothing less

Juš, hats off for the ascent and the quality, through an alpinist's eyes described conditions on the mountain. No sense wasting energy on others, as they obviously don't know yet that conditions, despite maybe iced jumps, are highly variable regarding snow bridges, wind slabs, thaw, cornices and require a trained eye and experience from the mountaineer on the ascent.

lizika, I hope we meet sometime in the mountains, 'cause I'm really curious what kind of winter climbing pro you are, to shoot such stuff. If not otherwise, spice up posts a bit, kinda like ads in a movie.

@redbull, still waiting for some pic of her and detailed conditions info, until then she's just one of those @primoza mentions for me, as we say: lots of noise, no benefit ...

How jealous some people are! (if we translate jealousy to English, we're really close to Jalovec) Anyway, lizika, in these conditions it'd be hard to call it an "average" ascent, even though it was my first time! On the icefield you're literally a bowling pin, as stuff really flies down and when a totally innocent small piece of ice hits you directly in the hand, making you unable to grip anything for a few minutes, you seriously think twice with larger pieces! I'd also appeal to LG's statement calling for mass participation! Conditions definitely not to be underestimated. Although it's iced up, the sunny parts melt quickly. Right above the icefield huge icicles form and you can slip easily. Through the chimney and directly over the roof it's really all "stepped", but on the way back the ice axes hold damn poorly. And when it creeps beside or even over you, you think twice again! Justifiably we were worried if the Croat who went up behind us would descend safely? And he did, luckily. I advise against an "average" ascent on "Jealous" for inexperienced or less experienced! Good luck... addition...I'm on Juš's first picture far right...also self-taught, far from alpinist, pro, or anything else. Interesting that Juš wants me by his side?

Congratulations to the group for the successful ascent, pictures like that are a pleasure to look at. If you say stuff was flying down the icefield, then it can't be exactly safe, but I won't interfere, because everyone is responsible for themselves. Even in summer when hiking to Jalovec, quite some rocks fly and even then everyone is responsible for themselves. There's always some risk. And it's up to the individual what limits they set. So in case of an accident, they're to blame themselves. I think LG and Juš both did right in their own way. One turned back, one didn't. Each by their own judgment.

Congratulations to all who stood on top of the crystal, I think all mountaineers know it's no child's play. Seeing all nearby and distant peaks from it, is not for free, we have to strive honestly for it. May the mountain peaks unite us and deeds worthy of all respect.

@redbull, is LG a bit bigger boss cuz he was "solo" @juš, on AO forums you're kinda average, ain't ya, here you're "boss", or how they call you ...anyway, those young ferrata guys call winter ascent on Jalovec "stamping" ... understand who can

I know it's neither time nor place but these stupid shootouts between glider pilots, Juš and a few have really fucked every topic in the last couple of months ...people, give pics, conditions, weather and short description without personal impressions on ascent difficulty that obviously only provoke such debates. For that, open a separate thread and go nuts

Look, Lizika. I know quite a few alpinists who are mentors to "ferrata guys", but you'll never hear such promptings, ratings and comparisons from their mouths, because they themselves have gone through many stages of alpinism from the very beginning and respect everyone on their path, regardless of where the student is. Moreover, such light mountaineering thinking has no place in alpinistic heads at all, everything else, i.e. prudence, calmness, respect for the mountain, balance, to assess our own abilities on the mountain, modesty, common sense and more would be found. Comparisons, judging and competing in mountains really have no place. Do not think, judge others, just be and become...

Lizika is an instigator, just to stir things up, nothing else, you glider guy I read with pleasure, like Juš, viharnik, Jovan Cukut and more would find!!! Amen!!! Simply you know to climb right things and write it nicely too!!! At the end you boast with beer at goal ...just my taste! Keep it up! Juš, go again traverse chamois rifts, that I'd like to see (read) again!

Congratulations also from my side to Juš and the team and to LG. But leave Lizika alone and don't fall for her provocations.

"ferajnarji" are actually all alpinists, so there's no mistake, mentors can only be for course participants and trainees otherwise don't get so upset, people, mountains are for relaxation, enjoying nature with full lungs and it's a real shame to watch how you give it to each other here...in mountains we are brothers and sisters, but when at computers like 15-year-old pubescents...in mountains we are all the same, whether alpinists or hikers, mountaineers, we are all mountain lovers, let it stay that way

Lunamars, that's why I put you in quotes. But some shallow boasting about who is better really doesn't match at all with one's own perception of mountains. Such people are also found, who probably haven't even crossed the threshold (Upper Kitchens) of Šmarna gora. Cheers and safe in the mountains!

Redbull is right. Only those who even at May by the bonfire haven't been to Lj. Rožnik yet are smart-assing.
