Today to Jalovec instead of planned Loška Koritnica from Zadnja Trenta over Jalovška Škrbina up and over shelter under Špička down.
Nice weather, no peculiarities on the path, great company and quoting colleague on the way: "it would be a sin to stay home today".
low clouds moved from the peaks into the valley at sunrise1
and the little sun appeared2
in Goličica3
still in Goličica, how steep this path is4
we just need to overcome this scree, then we are at the top of Škrbina5
we were not alone6
just below the top of the scree, snow poses no problems, it is bypassed on the upper side7
this glacier tongue is dangerous8
we obtained permission to enter the wall of Jalovec9
here the path from the shelter under Špička joins us10
we have to go up there11
and we're already at the summit of Jalovec12

Today's day without winter gear wouldn't have succeeded at allvelik nasmeh.
To Tamar by bike, to the forest line with headlamp, then on scree in the light of the silver moon. Since this winter was very generous with snow, I approach via Ozebnik. Snow of first quality and only the exit is rocky. On the summit, fog started rising from the Gorenjska side and thus blocked the view of the other Julijske Alpe. I descend to Kotovo sedlo past the bivouac where I fold the blankets and pick up some trash. Everything else without peculiarities. Nice regardsnasmeh

27.9.2014 Yesterday, 26.9.2014 we went to Jalovec from Vršič, up past Zavetišče pod Špičkom (closed!), down over Jalovško škrbino (quite demanding for descent). The entire path is dry, no snow.

On the summit we met hikers who came from Tamar, according to them there is some snow from that side, but in places where the path is well protected. "

I assume we were those mentioned hikers, because when we were descending towards Vršič, we caught three hikers in the Goličica wall, one of them "froze", so we got him down somehow with the help of (our) rope.
In the evening we met again at Tičarjev dom, he DIDN'T BUY A ROUND! So much for gratitude...

With a colleague we were on Jalovec yesterday. On the route from Vršič over Jalovško škrbino, on the scree just above the Ozebnika summit, there is about 15m of very compact snow field to cross, for which I recommend using an ice axe. The rest of the route is 100% dry. The path past Špička is also 100% dry. nasmeh

Yesterday debut on the King of Mountains. Zadnja Trenta - Zavetišče pod Špičkom - Jalovec - Zavetišče pod Špičkom - Zadnja Trenta. Nice autumn tour, path dry and snow-free. Lower part in beautiful autumn colors and walking on leaves. Zavetišče pod Špičkom closed (no stamp available), same for the hut at the source of Soča. Weather warm and sunny, middle part in mists, summit with sunbathing, quite a few visitors from all directions. It's a not too long path, exposed in places, well protected in key sections. Slightly more demanding than the path to Škrlatica, but less demanding fitness-wise than Škrlatica. The ridge is airy but nicely passable. View to the right obscured by mists. To the left the view was decent. The tour and mountain convinced me, so I'll surely return. In the initial and lower part there are strange and different time estimates and difficulty ratings for the path; it deserves a triangle with exclamation mark. To the summit 4-5 hours walk, descent 3 hours. At the end we stopped at Kugy monument and admired the conquered peak in his company.

Today to the top of the glacier, conditions up top fantastic, below south-facing slow snow, and rain of course.
