At least I don't delete posts. And for your info I didn't snoop. It just seemed strange to me that he left Planica at 3, but only reached the lower snowfield under the glacier at dawn.

Today on Jalovec, this time as a "walker" . Start at the ski jumps, then warm-up to Dom v Tamarju and on towards the glacier. In this "shady" part of the tour conditions for walking were quite pleasant, and it's trampled too. Since I knew conditions would worsen in the "sunny" part, I kept a steady pace and soon was in the sun at Jezerca. The pace paid off and at the entry to the marked path it wasn't so softened yet. So I progressed nicely towards the summit, but knew it's smart to turn almost immediately, as conditions were deteriorating. At the top I took a few photos and soon turned back, since descending in increasingly soft snow isn't pleasant . This paid off, as I descended to Jezerca in fairly similar conditions, then quickly went into the glacier and back to start. It was nice!
P.S: In such conditions I recommend an early start. Best to be at the top before 10am, as then everything softens a lot and water visibly starts running on rocks. Regards!

On Sunday, started just after 3 o'clock, but no real tracks, or half was covered up to the top of the glacier and further towards Jalovec.

Today four went to the top. The snow is fantastic all the way out of the glacier (especially for skis). The chimney is icy, so you need to go around. But today (19.3) at 18:00 they closed all accesses (by car or on foot) to Planica or Tamar due to jumps and it will be so until Sunday evening...

The chimney is climbable. It was drier on Friday.

True... Friday the 13th was unforgettable... to Jalovec, via summer path over the notch... chimney climbable, but already really dripping under the ice.

True, four of us went to the top yesterday, I was among them. At the summit of Jalovec we were at 10:20 and the descent conditions were already very unpleasant. The snow was pure south-facing and cornices were forming, so great caution was needed, well it always is. Quite a bit of snow has already gone. We enjoyed up to the top of the glacier, back too. At the end we watched a couple of jumpers and happily headed home

From the saddle yesterday (1 week later) it looked steep. But someone can check closer.

Yeah from afar it didn't look very promising. Sometimes up close it's even worse, not just for mountains

My experiences are just the opposite. From afar it looks inaccessible and demanding, but when you get closer, you realize it's not that bad and it will be okay. And it really is!

Mateja, similar story. Today there were already 7 of us up there. For the end a treat with the double success of our eagles.

I see you two enjoyed without me! More sorry about the jumps than Jalovec! Wouldn't have made Jalovec anyway, 'cause I'm totally "wrecked"! Regards
