Hi. Has anyone been to Jalovec recently? What are the conditions in Ozebnik for skiing?

After the last snowfall certainly no one has been even below the entrance to Ozebnik yet.

Does anyone have GPX track to Jalovec via Ozebnik? nasmeh

nasmeh in that couloir you lose your GPS

Otherwise yeah, this question really surpasses some previous questions, I'd rank it top of the nonsense. But to the parking at the ski jumps, will it work?

Guys (Davidd) - why provoke with such questions? I don't see the point unless the question is serious, which I doubt. Then just bitter debate. In current conditions and in the couloir only a few very well-trained individuals go there, the rest stick to top tours lower down or elsewhere. I've never missed 2k because of that. And this weekend was horrific. If that doesn't make us think then... Stay safe!

The question was serious, I'm interested where this path goes in winter. Understandably no signal there.

You can attempt the ascent via Jalovec glacier and higher up through the chimney. But the ascent to Jalovec is demanding even in dry conditions.

If asking just out of curiosity, ok, but if because you want to try it, probably all forum folks here advise against it. Choose easier winter approaches, gather experience and knowledge, gradually tackle harder ones.

Put more folksy:
You don't even need to look around much for where the glacier is, you'll crash right into it, since tracks don't go anywhere else (except in fog!)

Cool, 24ur. The best. Maybe flip through some Cosmo and add a link from there too.

Did you at least read the article? No. I thought so, because otherwise you wouldn't reply so loftily.

Let's refresh the conditions now that the wood is already cut. Ozebnik is excellent for skiing, chimney very poorly covered with ice, summer marked path nicely trodden and firm.

Extremely good skiing on the return2
Dry as pepper3
Strong sinking towards the summit4

From Zadnja Trenta (Flori) today (11.6.2022) past Jalovška škrbina snow patches in two places - before entering the wall of Goličica and above Jalovski Ozebnik (on Jezercih). Winter gear needed. Past the shelter under Špička the path is dry.

After finishing matura we went deservedly with a friend at the end of last week to the Julians for a few days. We overnighted in Tamar and continued very early towards Jalovec. At Kotovo sedlo we met a mountaineer who decided to turn back on the little ridge already a bit above the saddle. The path to the top is crumbly but very nice. SVK in my opinion is not worth carrying, but let everyone judge for themselves. To the east mists started to gather, so we descended towards Špička and further to Vršič. This path really drags on a lot, the considerable overgrowth also surprised me. I thought more people walk here. We arrived at Vršič just at the time when the helicopter took a female mountaineer with a broken ankle from Mojstrovka.

If I may ask, did you then return to Tamar or did you have some other arranged transport.
