We already went to Rateče by bus. From Vršič then also to Kranjska Gora by bus that runs now over the summer.

Maybe they have already become part of the mountain inventory, if someone misses these black poles, they still faithfully wait at the beginning of the secured part from the direction of Kotovo sedlo.

Fixed protections on the path over Kotovo sedlo to Jalovec are in good condition (one bracket is bent), but markings have faded quite a bit.
(A hiker who came over Jalovška škrbina warned me that one peg there is pulled out, but the wire rope still does its job well).

Yesterday I went to Kotovo sedlo. Since everything around Jalovec was fogged in, and wind was blowing, I waited in the bivouac guessing if the forecasters' prediction would be accurate. It really cleared up in the evening, wind died down, and full moon too, so I went over Kotovo sedlo to the summit already at night. Descended to Shelter under Špičko and continued to Vršič.

The last photo warns that every path to Jalovec is very demanding. Also the sign reminds me of the time years ago when I too was a path marker in Jalovec area and surrounding mountains for a while.

If you have a self-belay kit - is belaying /by clipping to the cable/ possible everywhere? And does it require lots of arm strength?

Below Škrbina there are cables everywhere, above Škrbina nowhere, except after the path from Špič joins, there are some. From Kotovo sedlo cables are frequent, especially on more demanding spots. At normal weight no special arm strength is needed, but of course it depends on where you climb/descend.

I mean more the path via Kotovo sedlo - probably less demanding than the one via Škrbina.

Both paths are very demanding, Škrbina is exposed and has few protections

Yesterday (8.10.) from the direction of Zavetišče pod Špičkom. You step on first snow on the ledges below Veliki Ozebnik summit - non-problematic (snow is southern, and exactly where the path is secured with cables).
Here and there then some patch on the ascent to the ridge, but can mostly avoid them. Most problematic spot on the ridge, just before the junction from Kotovo sedlo path - snow here (especially morning) already quite hard, slip risk. Problematic part relatively short. No pics unfortunately.
