Janezs, I know too, especially when they laugh at me when I exercise in the hills with a 15 kg backpack, however, despite everything now I hold back comments to those who don't know what they're getting into and how they should be equipped! Maybe he's asking because he has no winter gear and therefore wonders if he should take them or needs them. His question is more logical that way, that's how I imagine it.

Thanks for being kind with your answers, not an experienced hiker, last year first time at the Saddle in summer. But tempted to see how it is if there's snow. Otherwise nice to mock someone without experience. But I'm a master of Real Aikido, so never mock someone first time training. Thanks anyway.

dado74, I agree with everything with you. Rarely ask for an opinion and always get negative comments. I think this portal is made to help not insult. I think everyone knows what they need but it's not bad to ask for an opinion. Dado, if the path is trodden, (small) crampons are usually even more needed, because where it's trodden it's usually icy too.
Regarding the current situation: if you look out the window you see snow in the hills still, so crampons go in the backpack without question.

You'll soon see that winter conditions differ greatly from summer ones. Even a simple summer ascent to Kamniško sedlo can become quite tricky in winter.
I recommend a course for movement in winter conditions.
With crampons goes the ice axe, just like that, no questions.

Big thanks to all who kindly replied and wisely advised. I'll rather wait another month. Otherwise, when I go to the hills I take medical material, including infusion sets and systems, and various other things, because by training I'm a rescuer. Hope I won't need to use it in the mountains. Nice greetings to all.

dado74, they've already listed and told you, I'd just add that if you do, when using ice axe and crampons, also use a helmet.
Otherwise, you probably have a friend or acquaintance who goes to the hills, you can borrow gear and do a trip to Kamniško sedlo, at the same time they can teach you on safe terrain the use of the ice axe, walking with crampons, self-arrest with the ice axe. You might have a lot of fun.
Ignore the "critiques", praise for asking at all. Someone would climb up headlessly unequipped, that's really worth criticizing...
