But really quite funny things happen on this forum. Guys conspire among yourselves if you need to take gaiters and spare socks Like dressing a 4-year-old for kindergarten. How do you go around the world without your own brains. Asking about conditions seems OK to me, I'm also grateful for many good reports on this forum, gear appropriate to the time, without unnecessary words. Whoever doesn't know what he needs, isn't for winter hills anyway.]]>

Really quite funny things happen on this forum. Guys talk among yourselves whether one needs to communicate with others in human tone or like animals. Like teaching a 4-year-old manners. How do you go around the world without your own sense. Asking about conditions seems OK to me, I'll also be grateful for many good reports on this forum, communication culture age-appropriate, without unnecessary insults. Whoever lacks respect for others, isn't for among people anyway. ____________________ Pikica1 sorry, because I paraphrased exactly your reply, I think we all are like that sometimes and can recognize ourselves in it. I just wanted to say that the level of communication here sometimes fluctuates quite a bit. I understand it's unnecessary to repeat the same mantra to each individually about the necessity of winter gear in winter time, some patience would still be welcome. For example, hut keepers constantly answer completely same questions from hikers, day after day (how much further to the top, will the weather be ok, sneakers will be enough, right?,...) yet they reply humanely anyway. Child doesn't know yet that the road is dangerous. Do you tell him he's incapable anyway to even walk outside or do you normally explain that the road is dangerous and he mustn't go there alone?]]>

Again you've cluttered two pages because of one question that was quite appropriate.

Yeah, really incredible how much blabbering on a completely simple and well-meaning question. In all this one really wonders what is more stupid now. The asked question or the answers. If you put everything on the scales, you can conclude the question is fine and not stupid at all. While for 80% of answers and ramblings I could say they are really stupid. Is it really so hard to answer in Viper's style and some few posts higher or better hold back and bite your tongue or finger. I'm almost sure if this same question was asked in Kamniška Bistrica, to all those writing stupid answers, as hikers returning from Kamnik Saddle, their answers would probably be completely different, namely not stupid.

Yesterday I visited Kam. saddle. As for equipment the situation is as follows: in the morning from Kamrca onwards it's completely frozen so highly recommend crampons, around 9 o'clock when sun hits the saddle snow softens right away and balls form on crampons so better without them. Conditions change day by day. Snow above 1600 m still plenty but melting fast.

Sorry that I triggered a wave of various comments, answers and criticisms. I accept every criticism and thanks again for the answers, I've already learned something. I'm not ashamed to ask, I'd be ashamed if they had to bring me back to the valley with a helicopter and thereby cause taxpayers 10,000 euros in costs. I'll rather hike when there's no snow because I want to continue training Real Aikido. Thanks, no hard feelings, Rade.

I don't know why you're complicating things so much up here about stupid questions. If someone asks something, answer nicely; otherwise, it's better not to write anything. Don't write 3 pages or more for one allegedly stupid question and mock someone without experience in the hills. Like if I'd ask now if you can get to Triglav in winter up and down without crampons. But you can, because I did it myself.

dado, among so many stupid answers find some useful....... find it, skip the others and take them as a bad joke! Some will remain quarrelsome kindergarten kids their whole life, that's how it is and will be because they think they ate all the wisdom of this world. Take it all as a state not a mistake. Find the right answer, pack your rucksack and let idiocy not stop you and take the will you're slowly losing. One more thing....... even if not properly equipped, you can still turn back anytime you think the terrain exceeds your knowledge, abilities and equipment, and stick to the rule the mountain waits.....
