Yesterday we two also went to Kepa on the same path. I can only confirm the predecessor's words, as we enjoyed the wonderful path that spoiled us with beautiful views of the entire Julian Alps, Dolomites and Hohe Tauern. We were also happy about a larger herd of chamois on the Austrian side. The day was especially nice because we knew there was fog in the valley. That's why we hated to say goodbye to Kepa. Lp

I used Saturday and, like my predecessor from Erjavčev rovt, headed to Kepa. No snow anywhere on the trail, the views were wonderful. More photos posted on my blog at the link: Kepa from Erjavčev rovt

After viewing Jošt's blog, I decided to climb Kepa myself. The path is really fantastic. Adding beautiful autumn weather, I can say the escape from foggy Ljubljana was fully successful.

Kepa from Belca, it's been indecently long since I went here. Weather invites, decision not hard and in ten days third time circling around here. Last time Kurjeki entertained me, today classic. Car at barrier, though on return see some drive quite high, barrier open (cccc). Path crosses stream and steeply ascends right away, then about an hour nicely winds through forest and grass, brings to nice Annahütte on Austrian border. Path along ridge right, crosses some crumbling screes, at two spots fixed protections. Last 300 m steep (steep) along Kepa slope, on crumbly collapsing path requiring caution in descent. Summit in under three hours, path dry fully, well marked. Top leeward warm, plateau reminds that it's almost December. Another nice gifted day to self (not only self  ).

On Saturday I drove to the bridge at the ramp where the marked path to Kepa branches off
I don't know what the conditions on the path are because I was headed elsewhere

Today 4 guys went to the Kepa summit. We cut a new trail, snow unprocessed. To bivouac OK, then crampons and ice axe needed. Last flank windblown to rocks.

Yes, today...
in places on ridge sinking snow, better go around (down then up) on grass... just below summit snow in scree sinks almost to waist, but few meters... Caution on some sections due to awkward crossings from southern and windblown snow on ridges and shady parts, otherwise dry.

Interested in path from Golica to Kepa, how long tour takes, what path like, any dangers as child too, back same or elsewhere to car. We plan it, curious. Nice day all.
