:-), mushrooms aren't really my specialty, but they are nice On Tuesday through the village of Dovje to Erjavčev Rovt, crossing the stream named Žakelj ( and I remember Alojzij Žakelj and his hut below Triglav ) to Kepa. The path is nice, easy, relaxing, first through the forest to Planina Brvog past the hunting hut with nicely arranged surroundings, then along scenic ridges bordering Slovenia and Austria to the top of Kepa. Quite a few visitors on the summit, mostly from the Austrian side. From the top great view of the Julian Alps , Karavanke, Kamnik-Savinja Alps, Austria, Italy.

it was wonderful...the path, especially in the upper part, is very scenic. To the south you can nicely see the Draški peaks, Rjavina, Triglav, Škrlatica and Oltarji. To the west you see Martuljške Ponce, Špik, Prisojnik, Mojstrovke, Jalovec, Vevnica, Mangart, Rateške Ponce and Montaž.. To the north we have wonderful views of the Austrian side. To the east you see the peaks of Karavanke and Kamniške planine..On the top of Kepa I spent some time looking around and some time for the obligatory lounging...It was WONDERFUL!!!

...Trip shorter, on this beautiful day, but the pleasure was complete. Path to Jepca still quite good, further to the bivouac the transverse ditches for drainage are quite deep.

I think the times for ascent to Kepa are exaggerated. Today I hiked at average pace (2.5 hours from the barrier), and I took quite a few photos. Real time should be max 3 h and not 3 hours 45 min.

On Sunday 21.10.2012 we set off on this path to the top of Kepa. Most of the path ascends quite steeply, spiced up by a short secured climbing section. The day was sunny and warm, quite a few people gathered on the top. Pictures from the hike can be seen on the website of the Matica Murska Sobota Mountaineering Association: http://www.mojalbum.com/pdmaticams/20121021-kepa/foto/20186307

Kepa - from Dovje (from Erjavčev rovt) and back - conditions 21.11.2012 Forest road from Dovje to Erjavčev rovt nicely drivable and without issues. Today fog and low clouds quite persistent, in the morning almost to the top, after 12 o'clock it cleared and dropped to around 1700m. The entire path is dry, some snow tongues in the usual places below Gubni, which you can avoid, also the gully and its protections without issues, just that early morning they were still encased in icy embrace. Today under the cloud cover between 1500 and 2000m also quite cold wind.

Today I also went to Kepa. Starting point same as alyas, with the difference that I had nice weather. Sunny, no wind. The views on this path are fantastic, on our Julian Alps and Carinthia. On the way back I met quite a few hikers. The gully was snowy, caution was needed.

Those who choose to visit the solitary peaks from Belce gorge should take an extra hour, because the road is impassable from the tunnel onwards.

Hello, I would ask if someone can describe the difficulty of the path a bit more, especially regarding safety gear... regards

Aleksandra, see my description on the previous page. Don't know what experience you have. Path technically not very difficult except that wire rope out of the gully or back into it. But it's crumbly and exposed.

I read it, mainly interested in that harder part and if need to climb anywhere... I have quite some experience, but my shoulder bothers me a bit, that's why asking to decide easier..

Nothing so terrible, even slightly battered shoulder will hold without worry .
