Kokrska and Jezerska Kočna

Yesterday I was on both Kočnas. I inform hikers that the path to both Kočnas is completely destroyed in certain places and also deadly dangerous.
It starts already lower down, where the path across Taško is interrupted in several places due to torrents and fallen trees and therefore hard to follow. Higher up, just before the fork Kok. saddle- Grdi graben lies a fallen beech across the path. The path across Grdi graben is already getting worse year by year (also due to little traffic), poorly trodden and extremely dangerous when crossing steep slopes. Higher up, in Dolcih the torrent has extremely destroyed the screes through which the path runs. The crossing Jez. Kočna- Kok. Kočna has quite a few destroyed pegs on the belays and consequently requires greater caution. On the descent towards the scree from Kok. Kočna there is one big torrent collapse and it demands a lot of concentration and also the markings are already very old and poorly visible, which demands additional caution!!

On Saturday 26. 8. to Jezersko Kočna from Ravenska Kočna.

At 6.40 start in front of the parking lot where there were already about 50 cars. We climbed to the Czech hut via the direct path, and there we also ate something. From there another good hour in pleasant shade and we arrive at the climbing part. There helmet is mandatory gear, since at least five times stones flew towards us. To Dolska škrbina without special features, there it started blowing strongly. On top it was quite hard to stand because of the wind, so we made a break a bit lower down. At the Czech hut we refilled the bottles and descended to the valley past Štularjeva planina

I wrote it years ago, but once again.
Given that often a bunch of new, often unnecessary belays are mounted, secured paths turn into quasi ferratas, why not mount one here too under that pot-bellied passage, so that some less agile don't have to crawl on the ground and drag their backpack behind?

but it's really like that, mrk pogled so many belays nowadays in the mountains and also on Kočnas, but the installation of one short section some deliberately refuse, ... wisdom comes only with years, and some realize only when it's/will be too late jezen

@dprapr: I agree with you. Personally I think a couple of brackets and a cable solve the crawling problem. If it seems too dangerous to someone, let them clip in or keep crawling through. nasmeh

Yes, it's an attraction, especially for the young. But when you're close to 70, you barely scramble through. Lijaneja, hats off to you, you still belong among the younger by your feats.

"For some", even well over 70, it doesn't pose a particular problem, but every time I curse (last year) when I drag myself through there and really don't understand why the protection in this part isn't "eased" for those who would benefit from it so much, given that on some sections in our mountains (lots of places), there's way too much iron.

This is a very demanding mountain trail and not a walkway in a shopping center. If crawling through the passage is too big a problem for someone, there are plenty of other trails without such passages.

I never drag myself down there on all fours. I go nicely upright along the edge about a meter, under the edge I hold onto the rock with my hands. Of course this applies to dry conditions. Lp.

Since Kočna is my regular repertoire, yesterday was high time to visit it. I couldn't wish for better weather conditions, visibility was good, no wind, temperature just right. That the hills are already very lonely at this time I realized in the previous two hikes, today's was like the fifth day of Chernobyl here. From half past seven to six in the evening, as long as the tour lasted, I didn't see a living soul on two legs. (except ptarmigans)nasmeh
From the cable car to Kok. saddle is classic, where I really enjoyed the morning freshness. Since I didn't get any stew in the hut, I just change my shirt (which I had nowhere to hang to dryjezen) and continue towards the bivouac at Kočna. The path is nicely traceable, a bit up, a bit down, then up again and I'm at the bivouac. I air it out a bit, find some girls' stuff in it, sign the book, and carefully close the door. Two thirds of the way to the wall entry is pleasant, keep to the right on grass and scree. The last part is loose scree, spiced just before the wall by a deepened gully in August. The climbing to the top is pure poetry, always keep left of the gully. If I hadn't gone to the Na Križu point 2484, I would have crossed it just before the summit, where cables pull you up from it. Since last year the condition has worsened considerably, as on the section to Jezerska Kočna there are quite a few wobbly pegs, but they don't pose major problems. From J. Kočna I didn't dare descend the scree, so I continue classically under the 'belly', as Stanko vividly shows above, and descend to Zg. Dolce. In the warm grass patches under them I lie down a bit, as the sun is still high...
Next time probably from Kokra, since the hut at the saddle doesn't help me if there's no bartender or hooks for wet clothesnasmehvelik nasmeh

On Sunday Kokrska Kočna from Suhadolnik.
Road to the start in good condition and I started at 6.30. At the beginning along the road and then towards the pasture via Taška. From there steeply left, a bit overgrown but nothing serious. On the traverse there are a couple of somewhat exposed spots, so this path isn't exactly for the dizzy. When I was walking on Srednji Dolci the summit was still in the sun, but when I got under the gully thick fog came. In the climbing section there's quite some scree, which is tricky on descent. A bit below the summit I had to cross a small snow patch, which will probably be dry in a week. No views from the top, and I returned the same way, just below the pasture I took the easy path.

Maybe someone knows if the path from Kokrsko saddle to Kokrska Kočna and on to Jezerska Kočna is already dry or if there are still snow patches on it and how is the path over Dolška škrbina and Zgornji Dolci to Kokrško saddle?

Hi. I hope someone can advise me, didn't get along best with people in the hut over the phone.
I'd head from Kokrsko sedlo to Kočna on the western side or past the bivouac to Kokrska Kočna, then to Jezerska Kočna and back down via Dolci to the saddle.
In the hut they told me the path's been closed for three years, but I think they meant something else (lower Dolci south?).
Checked https://mapzs.pzs.si/home/trails and there my route isn't marked as impassable.

Anyone have info on this route?

Thanks for the reply and nice day.
