Today (23.06.2018) first time on Kokrska and Jezerska Kočna... Very demanding path. Somehow poorly made and marked turnoff after Taška to Grdi Graben...
We went via Dolci to Dolška Škrbina, over bulging wall (exceptional!) to Jezerska Kočna and then also to Kokrska Kočna and finally to Suhadolnik.
Exceptional thing!
Snow only here and there on descent from Kokrska Kočna at end of wire ropes and some more on scree but no problem.

Yup, Grdi Graben definitely lives up to its name, worth avoiding it. Otherwise Kočna is more than decent tour ...

No snow, except below on screes above Češka koča, which is no obstacle. Regards

Yesterday I did a circular tour from Cojzova koča, over Ovnov Čer to Sp. Dolce, ascent past the bivouac to Kokrska Kočna and Jezerska Kočna, then over the bulging rock and return over Dolce and Hudi graben to Suhadolnik.

Conditions OK, the most demanding part for me personally was one part of the ascent to Kokrska Kočna, namely above the screes on the rocks to the wire ropes. Lots of gravel, looks like some smaller rockfall under the ridge summit where scree rolls. Also exposed. Also on Jezerska Kočna there is an active rockfall, nicely visible from K Kočna. The whole path is excellently marked. On the path from K Kočna to J Kočna a couple of pegs hold the handrail, collapsed but do not pose a problem. That part seems well protected to me.

Path without special features, little snow on scree, but you avoid it anyway. Below is a video of the path from Češka koča.

Path nicely marked and secured, no crowds in the morning hours. From the top you can observe the procession of people on Grintovec.

How is the passage now between Jezerska and Kokrska Kočna? Has anything been repaired yet, someone wrote that part of the pegs is torn out??

One peg is indeed torn out, but yesterday we had no problems with it. Otherwise we traversed from Kokrska to Jezerska.

Yesterday in the PD framework we did a tour to Jezersko Kočno. We started from Ravenske Kočne, climbed to Češka koča and from there along Kremžarjeva path to Jezersko Kočno. The climbing part of the path is very demanding and multiple times "airy", otherwise the paths are normally passable. We returned along the same path, only in the last part we also traversed Štularjeva planina.

Last Sunday I headed to Jezersko Kočno but had to turn back at the first pegs due to fog and strong wind, on top of that the rock was wet so it would be stupid to try to go further, but my drive didn't let me rest and yesterday was perfect to try again. When I reached Češka koča the view to the summit was the same as a week ago (fog), but this time it cleared up and it became a beautiful day, only on the top it was blowing hard. I planned to continue to Kokrska but preferred to head back down as my face was properly burning from cold and wind. When I wanted to quench my thirst at the belly rock I had only ice cubes in the bottle velik nasmeh

. The path itself is quite varied, on the north side everything was still frozen, on the sunny side quite pleasant in places where it wasn't blowing. Passage under the belly rock is an adrenaline rush. Otherwise on the summit the feeling that everything will collapse as there is a whole bunch of small screes.

Today I fulfilled my long-smoldering desire to touch the gully to Kokrsko Kočno in winter conditions. nasmeh

At the top of the gully I turned back due to time pressure (from home at 10.30). But hey, the journey matters, not the summit, right?
Traverse from Strehe to Dolce mostly dry, but without crampons and ice axe no way! In the gully I sank a few meters up to my ass in the first third and almost shat myself. Luckily it was hard higher up. Nice to peek at evergreen Jezersko. Descent same way. Just below Taška the day tipped into night. And everything is beautiful again. nasmeh

Yesterday towards Kočne still lots of snow and clouds. I turned back and went around Grintovec via Streha

Skuta-D.Hrbet-Kralj-Kočni (25.06.19)

Topic is under Kočni, as it fits better. Over Gamsov skret directly to Štruc (II) and Skuta. No snow over Dolgi Hrbet and to Grintovec. From Kralj on the way to Kočni or to Dolce on the north side there is still huge snowfield. For all going from Grintovec to Kočne or vice versa winter gear mandatory. This snow will stay for sure few weeks, maybe until mid-July. Kočni and return via Ovni Čeri without issues, except lots of scree on the path descending from Kokrska to the scree field.

29.6.2019 Southern ridge of Kočna (Na Križu, Kokrska & Jezerska Kočna, Grintovec) velik nasmeh

From Suhadolnik over beautiful southern ridge to Kočne, descent via Grintovec. No special features on the path, the path from Suhadolnik to Kokrsko sedlo is quite eroded by torrents, but normally passable. Only snowfield on the path is on SW slopes of Grintovec, with a bit of ingenuity it can be easily bypassed.

Yesterday for a taste of wilderness and silence. Well, wasn't really going for any summit. Well yeah...
From Suhadolnik towards the cirque below Dolci. After dreamy traverse left above the jump to Spodnje Dolce. Chamois plenty. While deliberately scrambling over jumps in the gully, got stuck for a moment in one smoother one. zadrega

To bivouac below Kočna via nice steep shortcut. Above bivouac along ridge all to wall barrier. Passage without belay. Descent steep grass and up again by feel into rocks. Along wide ledge higher back to ridge, where fog rolled in. Persisted a bit, but before serious climbing turned back. If terrain unknown in fog rarely risk it...
Descent to Dolce through very crumbly terrain.
Descent to valley via 'Trentarski' Grdi graben (ouch, beautiful paths).
Backpack closed!
Overall lower area along marked path in forest above Suhadolnik heavily changed after last storm.
Great 'disconnect'!
