Today at Kredarica strong gusts were blowing, ascent from Radovna on foot, when I got to Pragrce I already thought I was at Triglav summit, to Kredarica still okay, I thought I was already back in the valleymežikanje then still descent back to the valley to Radovnazavijanje z očmi, legs already quite heavy. Practically no hikers, only touring skiers and few of those.

Yesterday my colleague and I started at 22 from Radovna on foot to Triglav. The path was still muddy in the lower part, in the upper part already frozen. Due to wind gusts it was not possible to continue to the top. I wonder if anyone went up today and if the wind conditions improved during the day.

Is it half-hard? Could one run? Or even too hard to go just in sports shoes without crampons?

At night it would be possible, as soon as the sun is out, it already sinks in, end of the week will be different. Saturday could be skied without sinking, because several degrees below zero are forecast. Poles recommended, because without them, I don't know how it would go, or some spikes on the front of the shoe, e.g. like they make for the race in Kitzbühel

I'll go up tonight, hope it's frozen enough not to need snowshoes. Planning to catch sunrise already at Kredarica, if not too cloudy in the morning, forecast isn't great. I'm from Notranjska though. Last Friday me and wife were up, walked nicely in the morning, afternoon easier with snowshoes than without.

I had similar plans, but based on weather forecast I'll postpone the tour a bit. Like you I figured tomorrow morning still without precip, but wind might be an issue...

Here, my wife and I realized the plans and visited Kredarica even in slightly worse weather. We started from Radovna on Saturday after midnight and arrived up at sunrise. It was quite windy, snow in the upper part was frozen enough not to sink, in the lower part we used snowshoes. Not many visitors, only a few of the bravest came after us. Triglav was all in fog, it started lightly snowing with strong wind, so we didn't continue to the summit - next time...

Hello,

on Saturday we plan randonee ski to Kredarica and wonder if anyone has been these days to tell what the conditions for walking are and if the path is well visible to Kredarica?

From the whole team only I have been once on randonee ski from Kredarica, but it was April and there was little snow and it really started well only above Tanova Pastirska koca above Polje.

Also interested how far by car in Krma?

Thanks.

More than 50 cm of snow fell on Kredarica in the last two days, so no old tracks.

Half a meter of fresh snow supposedly, so probably not smart. Parking lot is in Radovna, about 1.5h walk to upper parking.

cheers

Jume, given the already fallen amount, forecast for the next days and team's knowledge, I advise against skiing.
No worry, this year snow till late summer, we'll ski more.
