How far is the road plowed, if anyone knows?
because since the last visit to Kredarica they were still walking from Radovna, so it's a bit weird
thanks

best regards

Still plowed as @jmiha wrote: 1 km from Kurja vas. Further to Kovinarska and beyond, the snow cover on the road is no longer continuous. This morning I still got there without removing skis (a bit forcefully), in the afternoon there were already more bare spots. To the bushes you have the choice of a Mikado party among broken trees and branches on the ground or ascent on quite nasty avalanche debris interrupted by bare spots. Up I played Mikado, down unfortunately I chose avalanche debris. In my opinion on the return it's best to carry skis over Bukovje. From Bukovje to Kredarica no obstacles anymore, all one big ski slope. The sun was a bit on strike today, so the snow was also hard on the return but not icy. From the start of the slope to Kredarica I went with crampons. No postholing anywhere.

Today the road is cleared almost to Kovinarska hut; in the last hill some spruces are lying on the road.. if they cleared them, it would be possible to slide further from the hut with the car (but it goes with the bike velik nasmeh)

Yesterday I was at Kredarica, road drivable still from Kovinarska about a km... then through forest from middle of beech forest to end of forest very difficult fallen trees then snowshoes on feet and without loads over Kurica to Kredarica, back super skiing of course only to forest....

I'm coming along on Sunday and of course pay for transport or can also with my car! Where are you from? I'm from MB.
Sunday will be very nice and finally no precipitation, so it's worth using it for some serious ascent.mežikanje

Around 10:30 I skied down from Kredarica. The first about 200 m of altitude was quite deep soft snow, then it was much better, and in the lower part on avalanche debris there were quite some rocks in between.. that's how it was on Wednesday.. anyway it'll be fine.. enjoy...

To Kredarica via Za Cmirom valley. Snow starts well over 100 m above the tree line. Morning snow hard, afternoon soft, but it doesn't sink deep. First time I also visited Ivačičeva cave.

I'm planning to go to Kredarica on Saturday. Can you drive to the ramp already and how is parking? Is it cleared for parking by the road?

Krma is dry and the road is normally drivable to the end.Lp

So from where can one go with touring skis? From where onwards is there enough snow?

Klemiko, since you ask so much, from where onwards do you walk with skis?... touring skiing also includes walking with skis on your back, struggling through bushes, crossing rivers, bushwhacking through gullies to nicer meadows, defying sun, winds, snow storms. If the mountain allows a good descent after the ascent, that's just the icing on the cake.

I know, I know all that (also from the April touring trip to Grintovec), but I'm still interested in answers to my questions...

@klemiko: with TK Gora:
Dovška vratca (Aleš S, 08.05.2014)
This time it was again the classic - almost Triglav descent. In Krma you can drive to the end of the road. Ascent through the forest is more than warming up, as we really had to climb over fallen trees. Snow starts just above the tree line - less than 300m above the parking lot. Further on it's nice. The snow is already settled, only here and there some fresh from previous days. Skiing from Dovška vrata was great, the best was the avalanche slope under Draški vrhovi. Then again gymnastics to the car. 6x yippee! Aljoša, Mare, Marjana, Paro, Mojca and Aleš

Since the last description, conditions have changed quite a bit. Once through the forest, snow starts a bit below Vrtača and then no more walking on bare ground. I walked with skis, but since the snow didn't freeze much overnight, pedestrians sank in the upper part up to boot height.

As usual in May, I also went into the cave. Seems it was warmer in the cave this winter and so the main column in the lower cave almost didn't form, as water is now flowing everywhere. Nevertheless, the cave is worth a visit.

I skied down only at four and the snow was like in the morning. The only bare patch formed under Prgarca, further to Vrtača there's still a lot of snow.nasmeh
