I haven't seen anywhere that so much snow has fallen, the forecast also says that until Friday at most 10-10 cm... If really more than half a meter has fallen, then of course we won't go. Tomorrow morning I planned to call Kredarica regarding the fresh snow. Thanks for the info.
Shame because I doubt we'll find another weekend!

Weather guys at Kredarica usually advise against already at a few cm, so now it's almost pointless to call them; because the answer is already known anyway.

According to ARSA data, on Thursday 20.03.2014 there was 410 cm of snow at Kredarica, today it's 470 cm.
Regarding the meteorologists, only praise.

Someone asks how far by car? Not to Krma!!! Road plowed only to Kurje vasi (that's to house no. Zg. Radovna 27! Very little parking space though.

Hi,
according to reports here http://www.turni-klub-gora.si/~frances/razmere/, and snow conditions on ARSO, conditions are still quite moderate, so I think the tour is possible. In the next days there also won't be any significant additional precipitation, so the situation certainly won't worsen. The transformation will be slow, but according to the reports the new snow cover is quite well bonded to the old one.
A little new snow contributes to a good ski descent  .
Anyway, we'll wait until Friday for the final decision, when there will be new field reports.
UPDATE: Meteorologists at Kredarica say there is cca 50-70 cm of new snow, mostly wet, only the last 15 cm is powder. There have been no avalanches so far. They do not advise against it, nor do they recommend it yet; they say to check on Friday, when sun is expected.

Hi,
I also want this Saturday to head out for a ski descent to Kredarica. It's been a very long time since I was on this path; I'm afraid mainly of avalanches from newer snow (especially what will happen in the next two days) below Kredarica.
Since I'm the slower type, I'll start as early as possible.

Miha ok, I'll report. Today I also talked with a mountain guide I occasionally go touring with, who advised against Kredarica because of strong sun and moving on south slopes with quite a lot of new snow.
If anything changes and it becomes doable, we can do it together if you want... Most likely we'll choose something else though.

What are the conditions like to Kredarica? Sunday from Krma to Kredarica. How far by car, where can one park? We're not skiing, I see you're all going ski touring. Is it trodden enough to go without snowshoes, just crampons? Thanks for any information.

Yesterday (30.3.), my colleague and I were at Kredarica, him on foot, me on skis. We started at 3 a.m. Soon, at the height of the first avalanche areas, my colleague had to put on crampons, it was hard in the morning and he didn't remove them to the top, though not needed on parts (probably simple strap-on crampons great). On descent from Kredarica (~10 a.m.) sinking a lot except last part holds well. Skiing best ever - practically from Kredarica to car bomb

In Radovna "hikers and alpinists" with pry bars for opening cars have appeared. How it looks afterwards, I remember from Saturday on my car. I advise you to check the doors upon return, though then it's already too late.

This week plowed to halfway on the path to the hut in Krma. Spring coming unstoppable, snow below doesn't freeze at night. Meadows under MDV drying slowly, but lots of snow from Jezerc and Zg. Krma onwards. Skiing up top exceptional, breakthrough back through beech woods to Kurja vas (where I had the car) tough

Hello, has anyone hiked these days towards Kredarica? I would go on Thursday and I'm interested if tracks are visible so I don't miss the path. Thanks, nice greetings.
