since a burglar in Krma broke my window, I prefer to just leave the car unlocked in the mountains. There's less potential damage. That was annoying. Anyway, I don't leave anything valuable in it.

Sad times. When I was a kid, Dad always left the car unlocked in the mountains for other reasons, "because there are only honest people in the mountains anyway".

Yesterday's day was again for the gods. And for me.
At half past seven, 12 cars at the parking lot and 6 degrees below zero. What's the best recipe for warming up? Fast walking. The higher I was, the warmer it got. The sun at this time reaches only 5 min. above Prgarca, so it was, with some short breaks, snow-free and dry almost to the foot of Kalvarija; from there on, mandatory spiked gear. On the whole trail I overtook only 10 people, among them tsunami Lojz. Most happy about two Janezes who were already descending quickly. Also satisfied that our forum member got the camera back.
No Rožic and kavk, but I photographed some of our little hills.

Begunjski vrh and Vrbanovi špici. Karavanke completely snowless.

This backdrop always enchants me. All nameless?

I think these towers are still closer to Luknja peč, but the little ones towards it. One day we'll need to explore the thing from above. nasmeh

despite all gear, didn't need it for ascent and descent, maybe was a bit late velik nasmeh

and sun had done its thing...earlier ones needed crampons - used them...true, for pics a bit higher from hut, without crampons no way... nasmeh

On Kredarica today all as it should be! Sun, snow, good coffee, blue sky and views all around. Crampons last 300 height meters make sense. Around Prgarca 1 or 2 cm snow, path from many hikers already well smoothed, so some caution on descent. On the steeper parts of the path no problem, as sunny and snow melted.
