Yesterday's ARSO forecast for high elevations was quite sunny (except wind), so I went today to check the path via Krma. Here's how it is: No sun, but cloudy, higher up snow flurries. From Zgornja Radovna the road isn't plowed, but I drove on 4WD and tractor tracks to about 900m before Kovinarska hut. There tractor tracks went to private land, so I left the car at small plowed parking (for 2-3 cars). To Lesa on vehicle tracks, which had obvious trouble 2-3 times, further track of one hiker and one skier - up and down. Snow in valley around 25 cm. From Vrtača on the track increasingly snow-covered, at that height 30-35 cm snow, so wading knee-deep, sometimes more. At Prgarca snow started falling, waited a bit and turned back. From there no tracks, to edge of slopes below Kalvarija probably need to wade knee-deep or more, also due to drifted snow from above. Further across Kalvarija snow might be windblown with individual ice patches (at least meteorologist told me yesterday like that), crampons mandatory. Not enough snow for ski touring yet (unless skiing on path), on screes below Draški vrhovi bare rocks still visible, scree not under snow yet.

Today a solid track made to Kredarica. To Kalvarija dry snow grinding under soles, Kalvarija windblown to old base really hard and icy.

Some more pics for friends. The road is so-so. Not plowed, but rolled. With chains you can somehow get even to Lesa.

Hi. Yesterday (Saturday), 21. 1. 2017, a blue semi-automatic left crampon of the brand Camp got lost between Kredarica and Pastirčkova Hut. If anyone found it or knows someone who might find it, I kindly ask you to contact me, as it's a rented crampon. I'm ready to reward the honest finder too. Thanks in advance for all info and kindness.

I went down from Kredarica on Sunday, I met two Slovenian hikers who were going up and they found the crampon and said they left it at the hut at Kredarica.

If the crampon is in the hut, I can pick it up tomorrow. I'll let you know if I get it. LP

Sandra, could you really pick up the crampon at Kredarica and bring it to me somewhere down. Where would be easiest to meet and when? Best regards.

Today a bit earlier. "Who gets up early is either crazy or a baker". In Krma from Radovna I went with chains to Lesa. Some went even without. I recommend a shovel too. The track is well packed, from Prgarca upwards locally already a bit icy - the sun is already doing its thing. Lp Igor

bumslpepe You wrote the old southern proverb wrong. Correct is: "Who gets up early is either baker or fool" And one more on the topic: "Who gets up early, screws up the day early" I apologize for the last word in the second proverb, because it's not from my book of proverbs, but the original word.

Whoever hurries early is a baker or fool. Whoever hurries early spoils the day early.
