Hi!
On 26.6. there were still some snow patches right above the lake and then higher up, but they are not on steep slopes and are normally passable. The path from the saddle towards Vrh nad Peski below Batognica was partially snowy.
Best regards and happy trails.

Try with image resolution 640x480.
Or go to Photoshop - resize picture.

Yesterday my legs took me to Krn. From Drežnica I headed out a bit after 6 towards the bivouac at Črnik and then via Silva Koren route to the summit. Before entering the wall there's a short snow patch, for crossing which crampons are definitely not superfluous. Ascent on the shady side is an excellent choice in these hot days, as you meet the sun only at the hut. The fixed protection is undamaged, ladder stable nasmeh, all OK. At the top it was already quite warm despite the fairly early hour (just after 9.00) and when I started descending around 10.00 via Krnska plošča, the mists were already rising. Before Kožljak I turned towards Drežnica. The path from there on wasn't to my liking at all, as the stones were slippery and until I reached the forest, I had to be careful not to end up on the ground. When I looked back at that beautiful mountain from Drežnica once more, the summit was already wrapped in fog.

On Friday afternoon we set off from Savica to Komna where we overnighted. On Saturday morning over Bogatinsko sedlo and then along the path over Peske to Batognica and on to Krn. Gomilško shelter is closed, and our backpacks were waiting for us at Krniška škrbina, so we only snapped a few photos up top. On the way to the lake we stopped at the water sign where we filled our ,,bidons,, with cold spring water, later soaking our tired feet in the lake. Evening at the hut by the lake passed in good spirits. On Sunday we split into two groups. One headed back towards Bogatinsko sedlo, some detoured to Bogatina, one group in the morning ,,rushed to V. Baba and then off-path (ridge trail) to Lanževica. It was fantastic. Then over Lepa Komna to the hut below Bogatinsko sedlo, where we met the others and then together over Komna down to the valley.
Really beautiful three days in the mountains.

Best, Andrej

The shelter is currently partially supplied - only drinks. Renovation works are underway again. Nevertheless, you are warmly welcome.

Yesterday we did a full-day tour to Krn and Batognica. We started in Lepena and climbed the winding and not too steep mulattiera to the hut at Krn Lakes, which they are renovating. We continued past Dupeljska planina to Krn Lake and then to planina Na polju. Up to there there's still a bit of snow on the path. Sheep are grazing towards Krn summit. Weather was foggy, occasionally planina Kuhinja showed up. At the saddle we then continued to Batognica, which is especially interesting due to trenches and stairs leading to the summit. We traversed Batognica and at the end ran into sheep againnasmeh. We returned via scree under Vrh nad peski. The whole Krn range has lots of war remains and trenches. It was a really interesting trip reminiscent of history.

I'm wondering if there's a summit logbox or stamp at Batognica summit or Vrh nad peski? lp

On Batognica summit I didn't find either summit book or stamp. For Vrh nad peski I don't know.

Yesterday my friend and I went up Korenova to Krn! The path isn't extremely demanding, just a couple of tougher jumps, otherwise all ok! The most dangerous parts are on the grassy slope. For descent on southern path!nasmeh

I was also up there yesterday via Korenova, weather was really exceptional. Recommend via ferrata set for Korenova and lots of caution on grassy parts!mežikanje
