I agree with the hut keeper. Why should they even have beer? Do you go to the mountains for beer?

Istrian if you can't go without beer, stay in the valley.

I also agree with the hut keeper. Please leave out the insults. Primorci already understand what those two ** mean!

There were really a lot of Italians, interesting how they come with flags to celebrate the Italian occupation of Krn from the time of the First World War, 16.6.1915. It's all part of history, but I'm wondering how they would look at it, for example, in Maribor, if on 26.4. the hajmadinstovci in jerhanicah came to Lent to remember the Fuhrer's visit on that day and his words: "make me this ..."

@pinkerton: Don't forget that our people fought on the side of the central powers, so equating Italians from WWI with Nazis is not quite right... Anyway they lost on the Soča front, so let's let them have a little joy

It's not about equating ideologies but about the arbitrariness of the action. Go to Trieste and shout Trieste is ours and you'll see how many will smile and say let them have a little joy.... Regarding the fighting on the side of the central powers it's true that ours also participated. But those powers only lost the war, we lost a third of our territory.

@Nacek: If you knew that the Italians, who were threatened by no one and neutral until then, entered the First World War and attacked Austria-Hungary only because the allies promised them territory of it (i.e. South Tyrol and part of our ethnic territory), then you wouldn't say such things. And maybe they really lost on the front, but the allies kept the above-mentioned promise and gave them everything promised (South Tyrol and part of our ethnic territory to the Rapallo border, i.e. everything that's still beyond the border today and a third of today's Slovenia).

Now you've really sailed into strange waters . Let them enjoy the mountains, they don't want anything from anyone. What was, was, I don't like what happened either, but we won't change that up here . We too last year on statehood day waved the Slovenian flag on Špik hude police, and the locals didn't look at us sideways for it...

We were on Sunday, 17.06 from Planina Kuhinja and then around via Batognica. Very hot, snow patches refreshed us, even more the lake in Lužnica. I don't understand these debates about Italians and such. Aren't we going to the mountains for our own satisfaction and pleasure? There's enough politics on TV already.

Now it's too hot for the mountains, but with the right gear and lots of water, and very early, because the heat really burns, cream mandatory, happy trails,

Iztok is debating about Italians because they captured Krn during the first war and it stayed theirs till the end of the war, ego is still at its peak with them, typical for Italians

On Saturday 30.06.12 I fulfilled a big wish - to circle most known points around Krn, mainly related to the Soča front. A bit after 18h I started from planina Kuhinja, it was still quite hot till the junction with the path from Drežnica. Then it cooled due to altitude, after 2.5h I was at the shelter, quick change and caught the sunset from the top. Then I just sat, first on top, then before the hut enjoying the view (moon shining) to Batognica, Vrh nad Peski, Mrzli Vrh, valley ahead with lit hamlets (Drežnica church stood out). In short, my own world... In the morning a bit after 5 I caught the sunrise, then after breakfast via Škrbina to Batognica, where viewing craters I first really realized all I'd read about it. Then via Prag under Vrh nad Peski to Peski and pyramid, then I looked for direct way to the lake in Lužnica, didn't quite succeed, so in the end over scree to the foot of Škofič and lake. Then via gully between Studor and Maselnik down past planina Leskovca back to start. Probably nothing special for old hands, but for me a whole new view opened, finally got real idea of terrain and individual locations. And the whole time completely alone - priceless and so soothing in today's world.

Tomorrow we are heading to Krn with a colleague, from Planina Kuhna to the top, then down to Krn Lake and to the hut in Lepena, weather forecast sunny, just the wind supposed to be quite strong (10-30 km/h gusts up to 40 km/h). Any advice?

No sun, there will be fog. Apart from the cold and no views, I think there will be no panic.
