Krn today was paradise for botanists (it will be for a few more days too). Haven't seen such tall grasses here before, or maybe I was always here later. Instead of mules grazing lower, we grazed on the slopes with a dozen friends. Weather held, pleasant on top, great views, hot below. You can now drive right to Koča na Planini, even if not. Those 200m won't kill anyone.
We're going for our piece of heaven. :)1

On the path from Planina Kuhinja conditions are summer-like. At the entrance to the western Drežniško and Silve Koren, there is still a small snow patch.

Interesting photo no. 12 from lady Lidija, as the "little animal" in the pic is a rare Laški viper specimen. Its home is NW Slovenia - Breginjski kot, but the photo location suggests it has crossed the Soča river and is spreading east.

On the path from Krn Lake to Krn there are still some small snow patches, which cause no problems.

On Saturday we headed out early to Pl. Leskovca and on to the lake in Lužnica, where we first saw the sun briefly. But good, because the day was really hotttt, as forecast. Continued to Batognica, which had quite a few sunbathers, most of all sheep seeking shade that wasn't thereeek. Best view on Krn offered precisely by Batognica, where you can admire it on a soft flowery carpetnasmeh. After a short rest, descent to the saddle and final ascent to Krnmežikanje. The whole trail offered wonderful views, flowers glowing as they bloomed in all their beautynasmeh

First day of vacation nasmeh it was Krn's turn too. Start at Planina Kuhinja at 06:00, then through the cool to Gomiščkovo shelter, from there to the top. On Krn today almost all of Slovenia and half of Europe was there. Views were wonderful, temperature pleasant, in short super. Conditions are season-appropriate, meaning summer nasmehmežikanje

After checking various weather forecasts for Saturday and Sunday, Saturday might still be OK, Sunday no, definitely not for Krn. Always carry at least a rain poncho in reserve, if nothing else. I always have rain pants in the bottom of the backpack in the lower compartment that somehow attach to the boot so water doesn't get into the boots, and a rain anorak; the backpack has rain protection. I've never gotten wet. Anyway, we have bigger experts here on the net for weather forecasts who will add something.

Tomorrow it will be reliably clear, but for now the forecast is pretty crap. Rain, storms, foggy, maybe snowflakes too. I wouldn't go, the front is coming. The really sure forecast will be tomorrow.

Over Krnska škrbina, under Batognica to Prag, less than an hour, from there to the summit of Vrh nad Peski, a good half hour.

Past the lake in Lužnica, pics from yesterday.
Up there there were quite a few people, on the path I met only one, only saw another group probably from Vrh nad Peski.
